We’re just over a month into the 2024 WNBA season and with the most anticipated rookie class in league history settling in, this is a good time to check in on the race for Rookie of the Year.

Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark (-1000) remains the heavy favorite to take home Rookie of the Year, averaging 16.1 points 6.2 assists, and 5.1 rebounds through the first 15 games of her pro career. She has been a lightning rod of nonstop media discourse off the court but on it, she is experiencing the highs and lows expected of a rookie getting acclimated to the highest level of competition.
The same goes for Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese (+900), who is averaging a double-double with 12.1 points and 10.2 rebounds through the first 13 games of her pro career. Carrying over from their NCAA Tournament battles in college, the Clark-Reese rivalry is already delivering on the WNBA stage as both matchups between Fever and Sky have been competitive battles decided in the final minutes. These two will duke it out two more times this season in what should be another pair of entertaining bouts and ROY may be ultimately decided by their abilities to lift their respective teams out of the basement of the WNBA standings.
A ROY sleeper to keep your eye on is Aaliyah Edwards (+5000), who is averaging 9.1 points and 6.4 rebounds for the Washington Mystics. The team currently has the worst record in the WNBA as it is going through a rebuilding season and that could open up more opportunities for the former UConn star to shine. Edwards has tallied two double-doubles so far this month and there could be more on the way as the season rolls on.
