The vacant WBC light heavyweight title is up for grabs as David Benavidez (28-0, 24 KOs) and Oleksandr Gvozdyk (20-1, 16 KOs) meet on Saturday, June 15. This bout is scheduled for 12 rounds live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

It is the co-main event of the card, taking place before Gervonta Davis defends his WBA lightweight title against Frank Martin. Coverage of Benavidez-Gvozdyk and Tank-Martin begins at 8 p.m. ET on Amazon Prime Video PPV.

Benavidez is a two-time WBC super middleweight world champion, set to make his 175-pound debut in this one. Last November “El Monstruo” defeated Demetrius Andrade, forcing the former two-weight champion to retire in round 6.

Gvozdyk once held the WBC light heavyweight belt in 2018 but lost it to Artur Beterbiev a year later. He then stepped away from the ring, only to return in 2023 and win his next three bouts.

Benavidez comes into the bout as the betting favorite at DraftKings Sportsbook. He is a -650 favorite while Gvozdyk is a +450 underdog. The favored method of victory is Benavidez by KO (-190).
