Reignmakers Football: Early look at 2024 season

Following the release of the 2024 football schedule, it’s time for the latest roadmap update for the 2024 Reignmakers Football Season. This breakdown focuses primarily on cash contest prizing distributions for current-season digital player cards in 2024, but will also touch on some recent/upcoming product updates, as well as June trade-in opportunities.

Contest Prizing

As highlighted in the last roadmap release for the 2024 Reignmakers Football Season, DraftKings will increase total current-season card cash prizing in non-set-gated contests by $685K. Here is the overall cash prizing, 2024 season breakdown as a reminder:

Here, there will be a focus on the $23,085,000 allocated to current-season card cash prizing in non-set-gated contests by game type and rarity tier. Cash prizing allocation highlights:

• The four Sunday International Series games in Weeks 5, 6, 7 and 10 will not have their own Showdown. Eligible digital player cards for these games will be playable in the Deep Roster format only in those weeks. As a result, there are slight increases to Deep Roster cash prizing across each rarity tier in Weeks 5, 6, 7 and 10.
• ELITE-, LEGENDARY- and REIGNMAKER-Tier Sunday Classic top prizes were adjusted using some of the extra cash prizing for 2024. Additional details below but here are some highlights:
• ELITE will feature six weeks with a top prize of $100K (compared to two last season).
• LEGENDARY will feature eight weeks with a top prize of $50K (compared to five last season).
• Reignmaker will feature three weeks with a top prize of $50K (compared to one last season).
• Weeks with two Monday night games will run as two-game Classic format slates. However, cash prizing has been increased for these slates compared to a traditional Monday night Showdown. Last season, these slates had the same cash prizing as a normal Showdown, so this is an instance where DraftKings took the opportunity to incorporate customer feedback and improve the overall quality in these scenarios.
• Weeks 11 – 18 ELITE, LEGENDARY and REIGNMAKER Showdown prizing will include increased prize pools compared to Weeks 1-10. Last season, increased prizing for showdown occurred Weeks 11-14 only. For 2024, Showdown cash contests in Weeks 1-10 will include pack prizing to deepen payout curves in addition to any ack Party contests offered on these slates.
• Bankroll Booster contest entry limits will be reduced in 2024 from 20 entries per player in 2023 to 10 entries per player at CORE and RARE and five entries per player at ELITE, LEGENDARY and REIGNMAKER. The goal is to bring these contests closer to their intent of being limited-entry contests with a flat prize payout and more closely align with other Reignmakers sports where these limits are at three entries per player at all tiers. However, DraftKings also recognizes the volume of digital players cards is larger in Football than other sports.

Below is the overall distribution of 2024 current-season card cash prizing in non-set-gated contests distributed by week and rarity tier. This table does not include Reignmakers Football World Championship Qualifiers, DFS Contest ticket prizes, Reignmakers Football Digital Player Card and pack prizes or set-gated contest prizing for 2024. Total cash prizes subject to upward change based on potential additional promotional allocations or other funding:

As mentioned above, below highlights some of the changes to the top prize in cash contests for ELITE, LEGENDARY and REIGNMAKER for 2024 compared to 2023 in Sunday Classic slates. While top prizes are increasing overall, there will still be attention given to depth of payouts and the ratio of 10th place to minimum payouts.

• ELITE – Sunday Classic Weeks 1, 3, 4, 8, 12 and 15 will feature $100K top prizes. Weeks 2, 9, 11, 14, 18 and Conference Championship will feature $50K top prizes.
• LEGENDARY – Sunday Classic Weeks 1, 4, 8, 9, 12, 15, 18 and Conference Championship will feature $50K top prizes.

REIGNMAKER – Sunday Classic Conference Championship will feature a $100K top prize. Weeks 2, 11, and 18 will feature $50K top prizes.

Contest Prizing by Rarity Tier and Game Type

Prizing distribution by game type shown below may be adjusted due to changes to the game schedule that differ from expectations or in the event additional cash contest prizing is added from promotional allocations or other funding.

• Week 1 “Other” Showdown is scheduled to be on Friday, September 6 (GB vs. PHI).
• Weeks 3, 4, 7 and 15 “Other” Classic represent cash allocations for Monday prime-time doubleheaders (two-game Classic slates).
• Week 13 “Other” Classic represents cash allocations for a three-game Classic slate on Thanksgiving, and Week 13 “Other” Showdown represents cash allocations for the scheduled Black Friday game.
• Week 16 “Other” Classic represents cash allocations for a two-game Classic Saturday slate.
• Week 17 “Other” Classic has two additional cash allocations. The smaller allocation is for a two-game classic slate on Wednesday, December 25, and the larger allocation is for a three-game Saturday slate.
• Week 18 “Other” Classic represents cash allocations for a two-game Classic Saturday slate.

For most Sunday Classic slates, DraftKings will continue to offer up to three types of contests: Guaranteed Cash, Bankroll Booster and Single Entry. The majority of cash prizing shown for a Sunday Classic Slate will go toward Guaranteed Cash contests.

Prize Packs in Current Season and Prior Season Contests

For 2024, DraftKings will continue to allocate approximately 20% of ELITE+ editions to current-season card contest prizing and prior-season card contest prizing. Of the total prize allocation between current season and prior season contests, DraftKings will look to distribute approximately 60% of prize allocation to current-season contests and 40% to prior-season digital player card contests. Note that contest prize packs are curated weekly to exclude players on IR, OUT or free agents, therefore the ultimate number of editions released will not align to be exactly 20% by season end. In cases where editions cannot be evenly set aside for 20%, more LEGENDARY or ELITE editions may be used to make up the initial difference to 20% in total across all ELITE+ cards allocated to prizing.

DraftKings will run non-paid preseason contests for 2024 cards only. Prior-season cards will have access to paid entry fee contests for the preseason. Contests will be run using the Classic format and include all games for the given week. Non-paid preseason contests for 2024 digital player cards will feature pack prizing only consistent with last season.

Product Updates

Over the last few weeks, some key product enhancements based on customer feedback have been released:

• Filter out expired cards in portfolio – Have cards that no longer can be used in contests (e.g. prior UFC Event Set Cards) automatically hidden from the portfolio page to reduce clutter (may toggle to view these cards if needed). Released week of 6/3/24.
• Filter out expired cards in listings – Reduce secondary market confusion by hiding cards that no longer can be used in contests from secondary listings (e.g. prior UFC Event Set Cards). Released week of 6/3/24.
• Expanded availability of player details – Add player details (overview season to date stats, game logs and news) that were previously only available while drafting a contest lineup to other key pages. For the initial release, DraftKings will be adding these player details to the game center, digital player card details pages (accessible through portfolio or secondary market), the players shop page and the Trade-In Portal recipe execution page. • UPCOMING: Offers Improvements – Require newly created top offers to be a minimum of 1% higher than the current top offer. Solution developed in collaboration with the community through Ideas Hub. To be released in coming weeks.

Additional projects in the works and more details to come in the July update! Note that any plans for new game modes or game types will come with additional incremental prizing (not described above) and any new card usage variations will take into account existing season-long tradable edition count maximums stated above. Trade-In

More 2024 Offensive Playmaker Pack Recipes! Additional CORE-, RARE- and ELITE-Tier Offensive Playmaker Pack Recipes will begin on Thursday, June 20, starting 5 p.m. ET. There will be approximately 13K CORE-Tier Packs plus any remaining inventory from the recipe on-site, 2,650 RARE-Tier Packs plus any remaining inventory from the recipe on-site and 270 ELITE-Tier packs available through Trade-In. Final Recipe Details to be released Tuesday, June 18, as the current batch of recipes will end at the end of the day on Friday, June 14. Additional CORE, RARE and ELITE Tokens will be dropped starting Thursday, June 20, 2024 to support the upcoming recipes.

Additionally, DraftKings will continue to run Best Ball Ticket Recipes through June and will be providing further details for Air It Out Set Recipes in July as the start of the Football Season draws near.

The DraftKings Marketplace is currently only available in the United States and Canada.
