JJ Redick is a man in demand. Not only is he about to call the NBA Finals, set to begin Thursday in Boston between the Celtics and Mavericks, but he’s also reportedly the top candidate to be the next head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Los Angeles Lakers are zeroing in on JJ Redick as the frontrunner for franchise’s next head coach, league and industry sources say.

So what’s the real story? Well, Redick just so happened to join Mike Golic Jr. and Mike Golic Sr. on Wednesday to talk about that as well as the upcoming NBA Finals.
After some talk about hotel room cleanliness, GoJo had to address the elephant in the room — what’s going on with JJ and the Lakers? JJ says he’s just focused on calling the Finals. He says he feels fortunate to call the series with Mike Breen and Doris Burke and his day-to-day is consumed with his podcasting duties. However, he says he will address Shams’ report in due time once the season is over.
