A highly anticipated heavyweight title fight is on the horizon as reigning WBC titleholder Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) takes on unified champion Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) this Saturday, May 18. Live coverage of the main card begins at 2 p.m. ET on DAZN and ESPN+.

The 12-round clash is set to take place at Kingdom Arena in Riyadhi, Saudi Arabia. It’ll mark the first unified heavyweight boxing fight in over 25 years. Ring walks for the bout are expected for 6:05 p.m. ET.

Fury returns to the ring after suffering an eye injury during a February sparring session. The former unified heavyweight champion was tested by UFC striker Francis Ngannou last October, narrowly escaping with a split decision win. In February 2020 the “Gypsy King” defeated Deontay Wilder via 7th-round TKO and has retained the WBC belt ever since.

Usyk is a two-weight champion, holding multiple world titles in both the cruiserweight and heavyweight division. In September 2021, Usyk defeated Anthony Joshua to secure the WBA, WBO, IBF, and IBO heavyweight belts. After defeating Joshua again in a rematch, he would go on to knockout Daniel Dubois last June to retain unified status.

Fury comes into the bout as the slim favorite at DraftKings Sportsbook. He is a -120 favorite while Usyk is a +100 underdog. The favored method of victory is Usyk to win by decision (+185).

Round 1: Usyk 10-9

The two stand toe to toe in the middle of the ring. Double jab from Fury. Feints from Fury, the amount of tension in the arena is astounding. Jabs to the body from Usyk. Fury clowns Usyk while in the corner. Right to the body from Fury. Big left from Usyk.

Round 2: Usyk 10-9 (Usyk 20-18)

Usyk begins with a tough left hand and that seems to be available all fight. More feints from Usyk. Overhand left connects again for Usyk. Fury fires back a right and then an uppercut to the body.

Round 3: Usyk 10-9 (Usyk 30-27)

Usyk continues to walk Fury down. One-two from Usyk. Nice jab from Fury. Sweeping left connects for Usyk. Clenching amid the last minute. Fury with a nice late punch.

Round 4: Fury 10-9 (Usyk 39-37)

One-two from Fury and he finishes with a right to the body of Usyk. Straight jab from Fury. Then a left that wobbles Usyk from Fury. Right uppercut from Fury. The two exchange taunts. Usyk responds with a nice one-two.

Round 5: Fury 10-9 (Usyk 48-47)

Cut emerges on the right eye of Usyk. Straight jab from Fury lands. Quick hands from Fury and he’s in rhythm now. Nice right hand from Fury. Low punch from Fury. Body shots from Fury. Usyk looking for some of that early success.

Round 6: Fury 10-9 (57-57)

Overhand left from Usyk. Right body shot lands for Fury. Left hand misses for Usyk and now they clench. Nice uppercut from Fury connects. Big overhand right for Fury and Usyk is hurt. Another uppercut and Usyk in trouble. Fury beginning to dominate the fight.

Round 7: Usyk 10-9 (Usyk 67-66)

Counter right from Fury and he follows with a body shot. Straight left from Usyk. Major right uppercut stuns Usyk. Usyk fire back a left hook that lands clean. One-two from Fury that just misses. Overhand left from Usyk and he lands a second. Just enough to seal the round.

Round 8: Usyk 10-9 (Usyk 77-75)

Usyk blocks early combination from Fury and responds with a three punch of his own. Nice left hand connects for Usyk. The two clench up in the corner. Uppercut to the body from Fury. Usyk responds with a right upstairs. Feints from Fury. Big left from Usyk and he pushes forward before they clench. Right hand from Usyk. Cut emerges from Fury’s right eye.

Round 9: Usyk 10-8 (Usyk 87-83)

Each punch from Usyk and Fury grabs at his nose. Overhand left from Fury. The two clench. Straight jab from Fury. He shoots out a right hand. One-two from Usyk and Fury gets wobbly. Oh my Usyk steps up and lands a right hook. Another left from Usyk, Fury in survival mode and he’s leaning on the ropes. The ref has scored it a knockdown! Bell saves Fury.

Round 10: Usyk 10-9 (Usyk 97-92)

Usyk pouring it on and Fury buried in the corner. One-two lands for Usyk. He backs Fury into the corner again. Usyk misses a sweeping left. Now he sneaks in a short left. He’s outlanding Fury who looks a bit gassed.

Round 11: Usyk 10-9 (Usyk 107-101)

Usyk continues to walk down a non aggressive Fury. Right hand from Usyk. Body shot from Usyk. Double left from Usyk and now a clench. Straight right from Usyk. Overhand left seals the round for him in my opinion.

Round 12: Usyk 10-9 (Usyk 117-110)

Here comes Usyk again, overhand left. Fury going for a clench. One-two along with an uppercut for Usyk. Fury fires back a right hand. Lead right hook from Usyk. Counter right from Fury. Straight right from Fury, Usyk shoots back. Fury puts both hands behind his back and the two clench as the bell rings.
