Charlotte Wilder joined Mike Golic Jr. and Mike Golic Sr. on another Wilder Wednesday on a Tuesday to discuss what the future might hold for LeBron and the Lakers.
First, Charlotte has a strong take on the future of Lakers head coach Darvin Ham, who has come under fire several times this season.

Whether or not Ham is back, although it could be a major factor, LeBron has his player option which he can either opt in or opt out of this summer. GoJo points out the Lakers could give LeBron one of those final “thanks for playing” contracts similar to what they did for Kobe Bryant in the twilight of his legendary career. And do you really go the distance and seal the deal by drafting Bronny, which the Lakers are reportedly open to doing? Charlotte has no idea, but she finds it fascinating!

Senior says that if we’re expecting the Lakers to do whatever it takes to keep LeBron, we should expect that to include the possibility that they draft/sign Bronny to seal the deal. And he agrees with Charlotte in the sense of it comes down to: Does LeBron want to stay in a place where he’s comfortable or do you go another route with another team in a bid to win one last championship? And as Senior points out, for all we know LeBron could already have the decision made in his mind. We just don’t know, although reports suggest at the very least he plans to opt out and test the market.

GoJo says he thinks LeBron will get whatever he wants from the Lakers because at this point, they’re inclined to treat their stars like that. GoJo does say that if LeBron were to go to another team, let’s just say the Knicks, then perhaps he could get some relief and not have to carry so much of the load on his shoulders. If LeBron left for the Big Apple he’d have built in relief in the form of Jalen Brunson. But GoJo thinks the convenience of everything else skews things so much in the favor of the Lakers that he thinks LeBron will finish out his career in a Laker uniform, barring something insanely unforeseen.
