As GoJo points out, the NCAA and the Heisman Trust highlighted enormous changes to the college football landscape, as reported by Pete Thamel. GoJo says the Heisman Trust returning the trophy to Bush reiterates what the Golics had said the last time they broached this subject — why does the Heisman Trust have to listen to the NCAA? There is no part of the Heisman Trust governed by the NCAA and GoJo says the trust looked around and realized the world’s a different place and common sense prevailed for the first time in a long time.
And who do we have to thank for it? Ol’ Johnny Football, baby!

Senior says it’s ridiculous that the Heisman Trust crumbled to the NCAA back in 2010 and took Bush’s Heisman away, and honestly he’s not sure how much of a difference Johnny Football really made, but at least he started discussing the issue, with, as GoJo points out as well, others also vocally supporting Reggie. Senior says the Heisman Trust did the right thing and Bush deserves his trophy, even if he broke the rules as they existed at that time. Senior compares it to vacated wins — it doesn’t change the fact of what happened on the field. And on the field Reggie Bush was one of the greatest college football players of all time. It’s about time.
