Getting back to this year’s Draft, in a mock draft with Mel Kiper Jr. earlier this month, Yates had the Patriots selecting Drake Maye with the No. 3 overall pick. The Patriots are notorious for trading picks in the NFL Draft, often moving down in order to build up more inventory. Now, obviously that was done with Bill Belichick in control and the hoodie is no longer in Foxboro. But new head coach Jerod Mayo has been under Belichick’s learning tree for a long time, both as a player and a coach. Should Patriots fans be concerned this will translate into more Draft day shell games? Yates has some advice for New England: Keep it simple.
