Two of the biggest super lightweights in boxing clash as reigning WBC champion Devin Haney takes on Ryan Garcia this Saturday, April 20. These two will face off at the Barclays Center in Brookyln, New York. Event coverage will begin at 8 p.m. ET on DAZN.
Haney (31-0, 15 KOs) captured the IBO, WBA, and WBO lightweight titles when he beat George Kambosos back in June 2022. At 23 he became undisputed champion of the 135-pound division, with one of his successful title defenses coming against Vasiliy Lomachenko. Last December he defeated Regis Prograis in his debut at 140 pounds, earning him the WBC belt.
Garcia (24-1, 20 KOs) started his career 23-0, capturing the vacant WBC interim lightweight title back in June 2021 when he knocked out Luke Campbell. In April 2023 Garcia fought Gervonta Davis and lost via 7th-round KO. Garcia remained active after the loss, with an 8th-round knockout win over Oscar Duarte in December.
Haney comes into the bout as the favorite at DraftKings Sportsbook. He is a -800 favorite while Garcia is a +500 underdog. The favored method of victory is Haney by knockout (-115).

Round 1: Garcia 10-9
Patience from both fighters and now Garcia stalking Haney. Big left hook from Garcia and Haney is stunned. He unleashes it again but misses, another left from Garcia. Haney taking some blows as Garcia now waiting to throw again.
Round 2: Haney 10-9 (19-19)
Haney fires a nice punch to the button of Garcia. Haney with a nice right hand that lands. Garcia not throwing as much this time around. Haney bounces back.
Round 3: Haney 10-9 (Haney 29-28)
Overhand right set up for Haney. Garcia misses a wild left. More clenching from each. Major left hand from Haney and Garcia felt that one. He stumbles momentarily. Haney looking better from round 1.
Round 4: Haney 10-9 (Haney 39-37)
Garcia not showing the same firepower from the first round. Haney continuing to land timely counters and momentum shifting suddenly. Garcia continues to clench after taking a counter from Haney. Good body shots from Haney. He’s now ahead on the card.
Round 5: Haney 10-9 (Haney 49-46)
Overhand right from Garcia misses wildly. Garcia trying to find a power shot, but not landing as clean. Nice left hand from Haney. Garcia now seems more hesitant to punch.
Round 6: Garcia 10-9 (Haney 58-56)
Garcia catches Haney with a nice right hand and shades of the first round. More clenching from both, but Haney was hurt. Right hook from Haney to the body, but referee warns him he can’t use the punch? After the big right, Garcia once again reluctant to show any aggressive movements.
Round 7: Garcia 9-8 (Haney 66-65)
Left hook floors Haney and he’s hurt! Spaghetti legs from Haney and they clench. Ref separates them and wow a late punch from Garcia. Point deduction for Garcia. Haney struggling to stay on his feet and he’s fallen again. Two times he hits the canvas, but neither ruled a knockdown. Haney just gets saved by the bell!

Garcia pressing forward, Haney needs to recover or else it could get ugly. More clenching but the momentum on Garcia’s side. Big left hand from Garcia and Haney is on thin ice!
Round 9: Haney 10-9 (Haney 85-84)
One-two from Haney. Straight left also from Haney. Right to the body from Haney. Ref warns Garcia to not lock his arm around the head of Haney. Right uppercut from Garcia. Three rights to the body from Haney, Garcia responds.
Round 10: Garcia 10-8 (Garcia 94-93)
Garcia rocks him again and Haney has touched the canvas for a second time! Garcia unlaces a huge left hook again and Haney still remarkably on his feet. Another big round from Garcia.
Round 11: Garcia 10-8 (Garcia 104-101)
Left hook and Haney struggling to stay on his feet. More clenching, big right stuns Haney. Now followed by a left and Haney touches the canvas for a third time. Garcia cruising and Haney has no answer.
Round 12: Garcia 10-9 (Garcia 114-110)
Haney gets a warning for hits behind the head. Haney needs a knockout, but that is unlikely. Relaxed moments. Garcia now showboating Haney.
