With the first pick of the 2024 WNBA Draft, the Indiana Fever selected Caitlin Clark. Clark’s much-awaited professional career is now officially underway, and fans of the two-time AP Player of the Year won’t have to wait long to see her in action again. Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes fell in the NCAA National Championship on Sunday, April 7, and Clark and the Indiana Fever will kick off the WNBA preseason on Friday, May 3.
Clark broke the all-time NCAA scoring record in 2024, and led the NCAA in scoring and assists in three of her four seasons as a starter at Iowa. She has been one of the most anticipated WNBA prospects in history throughout her time at Iowa, and she joins 2023 WNBA Rookie of the Year Aaliyah Boston as they attempt to lead Indiana back to the postseason and what would be its first WNBA title since 2012.
The Fever’s first regular season game of 2024 will take place against the Connecticut Sun on Tuesday, May 14.
