The 2024 Rookie Debut Set isn’t the only thing coming to Reignmakers Football this spring. As players begin to prepare for the third season of Reignmakers Football, it’s time to announce updates and the roadmap for future information releases.
Phase 1 Roadmap
- 4/12/24 – 2024 Rookie Debut Drop details, edition counts, contest prizing, Franchise Score total prizing, distribution notes, Trade-In and product updates
- Week of 5/27/24 (dependent upon season schedule release Week of 5/6/24) – Cash contest prizing details by rarity tier and game set, June Trade-In update, product updates
- Mid-to-late June – 2024 Field Pass update
- July – 2024 Set details, Franchise Score, achievements (NOTE: Franchise Score values for 2022 cards will be reduced to 5% of their original value and 2023 cards will move to 10% of their original value on August 1, 2024.)
- August (Week before Preseason Week 1) – SuperStar list for preseason through Week 8 will be released, Reignmakers Football World Championship details
2024 Rookie Debut Drop Details
The 2024 Rookie Debut Set will be released on April 18, 2024. For full drop details, go here.
Contest Prizing
For the 2024 Reignmakers Football season, DraftKings will be increasing current-season cash prizing in non-set-gated contests by $685K and prior-season cash prizing in non-set-gated contests by $385K for a total increase of over $1 million.
Classic, Deep Roster and Showdown game types will all return — final distribution by game type, week and rarity tier to be shared after schedule release. The details for total 2024 season Cash, DFS Ticket Contest and Set-Specific prizing can be seen below:

Current-Season Card Contests
The focus for 2024 current-season contest prizing will be to bolster cash prizing in ELITE+ tier classic contests and overall showdown cash contest prizing throughout the season with the additional $685K for 2024. At CORE and RARE, additional cash prizing allocation may be used for Sunday classic slates throughout the season — more details to come on the exact allocation. DraftKings will also be reviewing opportunities to consolidate slate offerings where the schedule has unique formats outside of the traditional three showdowns and Sunday 1-4 p.m. ET games. (For example: Some or all international series games may only be considered for the Thursday-Monday Deep Roster slate in order to free up the cash prizing, which would otherwise be used for those slates, for allocation towards remaining weekly non-set-gated contest cash prizing.)
Once the full season schedule is released in May, additional details will be provided outlining contest prizing by rarity tier and game type throughout the season. The table below illustrates potential allocation of the $685K in additional prizing for 2024:
While slate consolidation will be considered to reduce the stretch on cash prizing, the following table lays out the overall guideline for how the $23,085,000 is planned to be allocated across tiers in terms of percentage of this total cash non-set-gated prizing:

Prior-Season Card Contests
For the 2024 Reignmakers Football season, prior-season card contests will run with the Deep Roster game type for Week 1 through 18, consistent with last season. (Playoffs will vary between Classic and Showdown.) In 2024, both 2022 and 2023 cards will be eligible to play in prior-season card contests, provided the player is on a team roster for the 2024 season. In 2023, prior-season card contests held deep payouts for early adopters of the inaugural Reignmakers Football Season in 2022. With prior-season card contest entries expected to increase in 2024, DraftKings will be increasing overall cash prizing by $385K.
Week 1 prior-season card RARE-tier contests will feature $30K in prizing — two times last season normal prizing. RARE-tier contest prizing will then continue for Weeks 2 through 9 at $17.5K per week, then $15K per week for Weeks 10 through Championship. Week 2 ELITE-Tier contests will feature $50K in elevated total contest prizing, with Week 1 and then Week 3 through Championship being $30K per week.

Set-Gated Contests
Set-gated contest prizing in 2024 is being reduced by $500K, with that amount fully reinvested into the current-season and prior-season non-set-gated cash contests noted above.
2024 Franchise Score Prizing
DraftKings will offer $2.16 million in DK Dollar prizing throughout the 2024 season (consistent with 2023). Franchise Score payouts for the 2024 season will kick off in August 2024 and last through July 2025. Additionally, 10 seats for the 2024 Reignmakers Football World Championship will be up for grabs via Franchise Score.

Season Long Tradeable Edition Counts
ELITE, LEGENDARY and REIGNMAKER season-long, tradeable edition count maximums will remain the same for 2024 as they were in 2023. Here’s the breakdown:
For example, there are 120 ELITE editions of C.J. Stroud in the 2023 Rookie Debut Set. If all 120 ELITE editions are redeemed for 2024, there will be 180 remaining ELITE Editions of C.J. Stroud that may be distributed in 2024. If fewer than 120 ELITE editions are redeemed, those unredeemed editions will go into future releases. In the event a 2023 Rookie Debut player warrants additional depth designation for 2024, those players will have a maximum of 120 ELITE editions for 2024 as an exception to the above maximums to honor full 2023 to 2024 trade-in.
Distribution Notes
Prize Packs in Daily Fantasy Contests
For 2024, DraftKings will continue to offer Daily Fantasy contests that award Reignmakers Football packs. However, ELITE+ cards will not be included in prize packs through this distribution channel. There may be limited exceptions where some quantity of packs, like Holiday, are offered through DFS contests that may include ELITE+ cards. As a result, a greater amount of ELITE+ cards will be distributed through other channels.
Prize Packs in Current-Season and Prior-Season Contests
For 2024, DraftKings will continue to allocate approximately 20% of ELITE+ editions to current-season card contest prizing and prior-season card contest prizing. More details to come regarding how the 20% will be split between current-season and prior-season card contest prizing.
Note that contest prize packs are curated weekly to exclude players that are ruled out, on IR or free agents. Therefore, the ultimate number of editions released will not align to be exactly 20% by the season’s end.
In cases where editions cannot be evenly set aside for 20%, more LEGENDARY or ELITE editions may be used to make up the initial difference to 20% in total across all ELITE+ cards allocated to prizing.
Trade-In Distribution
For 2024, we will continue to allocate approximately 10% of ELITE+ editions to be made available via the Trade-In Portal. Similar to contest prize packs, Trade-In packs/recipe outputs are curated at the time of creation to exclude players that are ruled out, on IR or free agents. Therefore, the ultimate number of editions released will not align to be exactly 10% by the season’s end.
In cases where editions cannot be evenly set aside for 10%, more LEGENDARY or ELITE editions may be used to make up the initial difference to 10% in total across all ELITE+ cards allocated to Trade-In.
Pack Breaks
Pack Breaks will continue in 2024 featuring packs across Headline Sets. Break Formats will feature single-player breaks, player stack breaks, formation breaks (“singleback,” “spread,” “wildcat”), region breaks, first letter of last name and more!
In 2024, Break packs will not feature Supercharged Reignmaker rarity tier cards but rather traditional Headline Set Reignmaker rarity tier cards where applicable.
Auctions
In 2023, 11.1K total cards were auctioned, this marked a decrease of 43% compared to 2022. Looking ahead to 2024, DraftKings plans to continue bundled card auctions, which were introduced mid-season in 2023, primarily for RARE and ELITE cards to reduce the sheer volume of single card auctions. Additionally, fewer ELITE+ cards, compared to 2023, will go through auctions and instead be redirected to other channels. Auction Schedules will be provided in advance of respective headline set drops dates.
Trade-In
A customer favorite from last season will be making a comeback in 2024: Offensive Playmaker Packs at all rarity tiers are targeted to return May 2024!
These packs include QB1, Skill Starters and Roles Players only. The Recipes will exclusively require 2023 Cards and 2024 Tokens to be used to complete. The target release for these recipes, along with a drop of 2024 Trade-In Tokens, is late May, with more details to follow.
Customers will have the opportunity to trade in 2023 Reignmakers Football Trade-In Tokens for 2024 Reignmakers Football Trade-In Tokens. The corresponding Trade-In recipes for these tokens will be made available prior to the release of the Offensive Playmaker Pack recipes. More information to follow in May.
2023 Supercharged Reignmakers and 2023 Rookie Debut Set conversion recipes to 2024 cards will occur before Week 1 of the 2024 regular season. More information to follow closer to the start of the regular season.
Product Updates
DraftKings is continuing to evaluate ways to innovate Reignmakers gameplay with the overall goal of growing the game sustainably. More details are expected to be shared with the Roadmap update at the end of May. Final plans will be confirmed before the first Headline Set release of the 2024 Reignmakers Football season.
Note that any plans for new game modes or game types will come with additional incremental prizing (not described above), and any new card usage variations will take into account existing season-long tradable edition count maximums stated above.
