NBA Betting Systems: Trending Basketball Picks, Odds to Consider on DraftKings Sportsbook

The new Systems tool in the DraftKings Sportsbooks’ Stats Hub highlights plays based on various factors that have been trending over the last seven days, last 30 days and the entire season. With this article, we’re going to look at some of the systems that have been trending over the past week with the intent of finding other games that could apply to those systems over the next week of games.

One thing to note about the potential upcoming system matches sections throughout this article. NBA favorite/underdog, spread and totals are generally not available until the evening before games. Also, some systems can be based on the result of a previous game. Confirm the games mentioned under this section are matches prior to making your picks.

SYSTEM: Home favorites ATS after not playing the previous day

Rested home favorites have been getting after it recently. Over the last week of games, home favorites that did not play the previous day, are 23-9 ATS.

Prior to this recent run, this system hadn’t been much to write home about. Prior to this stretch, this system was a rough 87-91-4. This trend likely won’t last, but there’s still room to capitalize on the way this play has been performing.

There are 8 games that fit this system to start off the week. However, there are two I prefer above the rest: LAL +4 and TOR +11. Asking teams to win by double digits is always risky, so a teaser may be the better way to go if you’re interested in Toronto.

Either way, these two stand out because both the Lakers and Raptors are playing after getting two days of rest. Teams who are playing after having two rest days are 21-13 ATS (61.76%) on the season.

NOTE: All games listed in the table above feature a home team that is not scheduled to play on the day prior. As of writing, odds were not available for games from 12/19/23-12/23/23.

SYSTEM: Over on total when home favorite is coming off a loss

This system has been electric after a slow start to the season. Throughout the last week of games, the over is 10-1 in this setting. Over the last 30 days, it’s 32-20.

Now, the games that fit this system on Monday don’t feature favorites that’ve been heavy to the over in this setting. However, CHA, DET and NYK have all seen the over hit often when playing as a road underdog.

NOTE: No table laying out potential plays for this system throughout the week because odds are unavailable as of writing and this play is also dependent on the outcome of the underdog’s previous game.
