Aidan O’Connell start or sit: Week 15 fantasy football advice

We break down the fantasy football outlook of Aidan O’Connell ahead of the Chargers Week 15 matchup against the Raiders.

The Las Vegas Raiders will face the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 15. Las Vegas interim head coach Antonio Pierce said that he has not yet decided who will start under center for the Raiders. Rookie quarterback Aidan O’Connell has been starting, but the Raiders could go back to Jimmy Garoppolo.

With this news, should you trust O’Connell this week for your Week 15 fantasy football lineups?

Fantasy Football analysis: Raiders QB Aidan O’Connell

O’Connell is the overall QB27 this season. He has played in seven games and has thrown for 1,365 yards with four touchdowns and seven interceptions. Last week, O’Connell finished 21-of-32 for 171 yards with an interception in Las Vegas’ three-point loss to the Vikings.

Start or sit in Week 15 PPR leagues?

Nope.

Las Vegas isn’t certain that O’Connell will even start in this game, so there is way too much risk there. The Raiders could have both guys active and then trot Garoppolo out there, potentially leaving you with a goose egg with the fantasy football playoffs looming. There are no teams on bye this week and you would have to be in a 20-team league to consider O’Connell.

Player(s) you would start ahead of Aidan O’Connell

I would start Tommy DeVito, Desmond Ridder, Will Levis, Joe Flacco and Jake Browning over O’Connell. Put another way, among projected starters for this week, there are significantly more that I would start over O’Connell and only a handful of players I would start O’Connell over.
