We’re in for a potentially exciting match at Estadio Azteca Tuesday evening in CONCACAF Nations League play when Honduras visits Mexico in the second leg of the quarterfinal tie. Honduras hold a 2-0 advantage on aggregate score, meaning Mexico will have to find the back of the net multiple times to have a chance at advancing in this competition. Advancement also secures a spot in the 2024 Copa America, with the eliminated team having to go through a playoff format to qualify.

It was a rough game for El Tri in the first leg. Despite having 65% of the possession, Mexico got outshot by Honduras and only managed to put two shots on the frame. Mexico have gone through some rough patches offensively but they’ll need to be at their best in front of their home crowd. As for Honduras, they can likely sit back and defend knowing they have a two-goal advantage and all the pressure is on Mexico. A few counterattacking moves might be the break Honduras need to secure a spot in the semifinal and the 2024 Copa America.
