This weekend recently crowned WBC junior welterweight champion Regis Prograis (28-1, 24 KOs) will defend his title for the first time against challenger Danielito Zorilla (17-1, 13 KOs). The bout will take place on Saturday, June 17 live from the Smoothie King Arena in New Orleans.
DAZN will stream the fight as the main card is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET. Prograis and Zorrilla will make their way to the ring sometime after 11:30 p.m. depending on the length of the undercard fights.
Prograis is coming off an impressive eleventh-round TKO of Jose Zepeda last November, adding yet another knockout to his resume. The southpaw is currently ranked #1 in the junior welterweight division per The Ring and Box Rec. He now has the chance to defend the belt in front of his hometown of Louisiana and extend his wins by knockout streak to five.
Zorrilla gets a huge opportunity, as Australian lightweight Liam Paro had to back out of the bout after suffering an injury pre-fight. The Puerto Rican professional will be making his second fight appearance in the United States and has the tall task of pulling off an upset.
Prograis comes into the bout as the favorite at DraftKings Sportsbook. He is a -1600 favorite while Zorrilla is a +850 underdog.

Round 1: Zorrilla 10-9
A ton of action as these two wasting no time. Prograis fires upstairs and lands, but Zorrilla not backing down either he returns. Now Zorrilla doubles up his right hand and makes contact up top. Big shot lands for Zorrilla during a late exchange of punches. Both men down on the canvas. Prograis with a UFC like takedown. Prograis lands a mice left just before the bell. Close but the challenger steals this one and is proving he’s not afraid.
Round 2: Zorrilla 10-9 (Zorrilla 20-18)
Pace a bit slower this time around. Zorrilla still keeping busy, lands a nice early shot. Both fighters trying for the homerun but nice defense being shown from both. Zorrilla using his height to his advantage, waiting on Prograis to push forward.Double righthand connect for Zorrilla up top, followed up by a Jab. Prograis misses on a left hand late in the round.
Round 3: Prograis 10-8 (28-28)
Zorrilla continues to play the patience game and make Prograis commit so he can try for the counter. Big left hand from Progrias and Zorrilla is seeing the stars. He’s down wow! Prograis is being the more aggressor and tries for another big shot. Right hand from Zorrilla misses and the champion might’ve stole back the early momentum from Zorrilla.
Round 4: Prograis 10-9 (Prograis 38-36)
Zorrilla moving on the outside of the ring and partially lands a right hand. Jabs from Prograis miss a bit. Pace slowing down again. Nice right to the body for Zorrilla. Prograis responds to the body with a left of his own. Snails pace, slight advantage to the champ.
Round 5: Zorrilla 10-9 (46-46)
Prograis is stepping forward but missing most of his punches. Right hand lead from Zorrilla connects. Zorrilla again doing work with a double right. Prograis looking for a counter left. Zorrilla attacks as the bell dings. Close rounds but Prograis not doing much.
Round 6: Zorrilla 10-9 (Zorrilla 56-55)

Left hook from Prograis to start out but he barely connects. Check jab for Zorrilla doing work. Prograis missing a lot of jabs. Prograis tries a big left hand but Zorrilla covers up well. Double right hand, which has been his go-to lands yet again for Zorrilla.
Round 8: Zorrilla 10-9 (Zorrilla 76-73)
Zorrilla moving with more aggression and Prograis’ punches falling short.Another missed left haymaker attempt from the champ. Right hook lands finally for Prograis. Nice straight right lands for Zorrilla, Prograis momentarily stumbles back a bit.
Round 9: Prograis 10-9 (Zorrilla 85-83)
Counter right to start out the round for the challenger. Prograis lands a nice shot that has Zorrilla on his bike a bit. Now a counter left hand for the champion. Combination try for from Zorrilla but he gets hits below the belt. takes a low straying blow from Prograis. More aggressive and efficient Prograis.
Round 10: Zorrilla 10-9 (Zorrilla 95-92)
Zorrilla has been good at relaxing and making Prograis take wild punches. Counter to the body shot nicely done for Zorrilla. Jab drops Prograis but ref rules it a slip. Zorrilla on the verge of a MAJOR upset.
Round 11: Prograis 10-9 (Zorrilla 104-102)
Prograis comes out more aggressive in this round and connects with a right hook to the body. More work to the body and it seems like a knockout will be Prograis only option for a win. He gets this round but will need another power punch to seal the deal and get a lead on the cards.
Round 12: Prograis 10-9 (Zorrilla 113-112)
Wow, Prograis comes out firing , doing all he can but Zorrilla not going for it. Prograis misses again this time a left hand. Now connects nicely to the lands a right hook to the body. Zorrilla responds with a body shot of his own. Left to the body connects for Prograis. Champ won this round, but the cards might not be in his favor, it’ll come down to a decision.
