It’s tied 6-6 in the bottom of the 9th, runner on 2nd, two out.

That is about the most heartbreaking way you will ever see a team lose a season. The Longhorns pulled even in the Top of the 8th with a three-run rally to even the game, and closer Lucas Gordon appeared to be out of it to get the game to the 10th inning. Instead he watched the ball get dropped as he was walking back to the dugout.
The No. 8 Cardinal will now face No. 1 Wake Forest in their opening game in Omaha, where they head for the third-straight season. Stanford has now won 10 straight games when facing elimination in a regional or Super Regional.
