Best College Football Week 10 DFS Picks
Quarterback
Stud
Sam Leavitt, LSU vs. Alabama, $9,200
This is a massive game for Sam Leavitt. Lane Kiffin brought him to LSU to win games like this. LSU’s playoff hopes are on the line, and they need to beat the Crimson Tide here. Leavitt is coming off arguably his best game as a Tiger. He should come ready against Alabama. Mobile quarterbacks like LaNorris Sellers have given Alabama problems this season. Leavitt should be able to use his legs and create plays here. He has eight rushing touchdowns on the season and should do damage running the ball, as well as through the air.
Value
Austin Simmons, Missouri vs. Texas, $6,300
This is a tough matchup against Texas for Austin Simmons. However, he is a high-upside player, which is what you’re looking for in value players. Simmons has the arm talent of an elite college quarterback, but he struggles with consistency. If Simmons plays his best game, he could put up big numbers. Simmons has a 16-2 TD-INT ratio this season, and if he can play clean football against Texas, he presents real value in this contest.
Running Back
Stud
Wayshawn Parker, Utah vs. BYU, $8,800
Wayshawn Parker is having a remarkable season for Utah. This is their biggest game of the season, and Parker should put his best foot forward. Parker has 13 total touchdowns in eight games played this season. He can be a threat in the passing game as well, averaging 3.25 receptions per game this season. The way to attack BYU is on the ground. The Cougars rank 73rd in the nation in defensive rushing success rate. Parker should get a lot of touches in this game and keep the chains moving for Utah. He should be able to cash in with touchdowns as well, making him a great play this week.
Value
Jabree Coleman, South Carolina vs. Texas A&M, $5,000
Jabree Coleman has taken over starting running back duties for the Gamecocks with the injury to Matt Fuller. This price is not reflecting Coleman’s potential. Fuller was one of the most efficient running backs in the country before going down, and if Coleman gets that big of a workload, he could be in for a huge game. Coleman had 13 carries for 62 yards, as well as a couple of catches, last week against Oklahoma. The South Carolina offense is on fire at the moment and should keep it rolling at home against the Aggies. If Coleman can keep the momentum going and find the end zone in this game, he will greatly outperform his current price.
Wide Receiver
Stud
Umari Hatcher, Syracuse vs. Clemson, $8,200
Umari Hatcher has been a star for Syracuse this season. He ranks inside the top 10 in the country in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns. He has six touchdowns over his past five games, and has over 100 receiving yards in four of those five games. Syracuse is at home against Clemson, where they always perform better. If Steve Angeli returns at quarterback, this Syracuse offense is dangerous. Hatcher should make the most of this matchup and put up some more big numbers against Clemson.
Value
Mazeo Bennett Jr., South Carolina vs. Texas A&M, $4,800
Mazeo Bennett Jr. has been another standout for South Carolina during their winning streak. Bennett has already reached his single-season career high in receiving yards. The junior has at least 88 yards through the air in three of his past four games. He has also scored a touchdown in all three of the Gamecocks’ wins over this winning streak. He is performing like a high-level WR1 at the moment, but is still being priced like a WR2/WR3 of a mediocre offense in this contest. Bennett should stay hot against Texas A&M and vastly outperform his cost in this contest.
