The NFL season is back and that means Survivor pools once again. We are here to provide tips to stay alive all season.

December is upon us and we’re coming into the home stretch with the 2024 NFL Playoffs just around the corner. This also means we’re nearing the end of most Survivor pools. If you’re still alive, there probably are not many teams left. It’s time to fire off some of those safe choices you’ve been saving.

I’m back once again with a look at safe choices, value choices, and potential traps for Week 13. Last week, I was pretty far off on some of my picks. I had the 49ers over the Seahawks as a safe pick, and I also nailed Titans over Panthers as a value pick. However, my other value pick was Patriots over Giants, and that went south. My trap picks were Cowboys over Commanders, Dolphins over Jets, and Chiefs over Raiders. All three won easily an were never really in doubt of taking care of business.

On to my Week 13 picks.

Safest picks

Dolphins over Commanders
Cowboys over Seahawks
Jaguars over Bengals

Most folks have used the Dolphins and/or the Cowboys, but if not, now is not the worst time. The Cowboys in particular are worthing using as they don’t have much value until Week 18. The Jaguars are going to be a popular pick against the Jake Browning-led Bengals.

Best value picks

Buccaneers over Panthers
Steelers over Cardinals
Texans over Broncos

The Bucs and Steelers face a pair of awful teams at home. Upsets are possible, but the Bucs and Steelers will both be popular picks this week. The Texans are the real value here if you’re looking to save the Steelers for next week at home against the Patriots. Denver is playing some solid football, but they are headed on a three-game road swing and I don’t think their defense can do enough to contain C.J. Stroud.

Trap pick

Chargers over Patriots

The Patriots are generally worth fading at this point, but the Chargers on the road feels like a tough call. LA is just too inconsistent to take this chance if you can avoid it.
