Update: Doncic is back in the game, and it’s unclear exactly what issues he’s dealing with outside of some possible knees soreness. He’s going to continue as the Mavericks try to come back against the Grizzlies.
Dallas Mavericks point guard Luka Doncic went back to the locker room for a second time in Tuesday’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies, although the specific injury is not known. Doncic was getting his knee looked at earlier but did return to the contest.

After getting looked at, Doncic ultimately did return to the bench and seems ready to go back in the game. The Mavericks will certainly be cautious with their superstar point guard if this game does get out of hand but Dallas is surprisingly down double digits despite the Grizzlies missing both Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr. Doncic has been solid in this game with 19 points, five assists and three rebounds.
If Doncic were to check out of the contest at any point due to an injury, Kyrie Irving and Tim Hardaway Jr. would be the top backcourt options for Dallas. Irving would take the bulk of the usage offensively but Hardaway Jr. will also see more shots.
