After a great Monday night start to the fantasy baseball week, Major League Baseball is back on the diamonds for a jam-packed Tuesday of hardball. There are four games on the turbo slate that starts at 6:35 p.m. ET followed by the remaining 11 games on the main featured slate on DraftKings. A wide variety of contest sizes and entry fees are available in the DFS lobby for the featured slate, which begins at 7:10 p.m. ET.
There are some weather concerns for tonight’s slate, so be sure to keep a close eye on conditions and avoid spots where the game could be postponed or canceled. With 22 teams to choose from, plenty of options are worth considering to find solid pivots. If you are stretched thin on salary cap space, many good values are also available. The three players highlighted below bring very good upside at their very low salaries on Tuesday’s slate.

SP Colin Rea, Milwaukee Brewers vs. Pittsburgh Pirates, $7,400
The Brewers open a home series against their division rivals from Pittsburgh by giving Rea the ball on Tuesday night. The 34-year-old righty has been very strong for the Brewers this season and already has set a new career-high with eight wins in 17 games. Rea has picked up victories in four of his last five starts and has held opponents to two earned runs or fewer in five of his last six appearances. He has a 2.48 ERA and 4.57 FIP over those six games, lowering his season totals to a 3.34 ERA and 4.61 FIP. Rea’s FIP is a little higher since he isn’t reliant on strikeouts. Over those six games, he has 29 strikeouts in 40 innings but has limited damage by allowing just a .215 batting average against and posting a 0.98 WHIP. Rea has earned over 22 DKFP in four of his last five starts including last Wednesday’s start in Colorado, where he held the Rockies to six hits in seven shutout innings. Although that start came on the road, he has been very good at home this season with a 2.83 ERA, 4.43 FIP and 7.55 K/9 in his 47 2⁄3 innings at American Family Field. While Rea’s ceiling isn’t as high as the elite strikeout options on Tuesday night’s slate, he brings very good upside for a play under $7,500 and has regularly out-produced his price point throughout the first half of the season.
3B Brooks Lee, Minnesota Twins at Chicago White Sox, $3,000
I’m going back to the well this Tuesday on Lee, who is still very underpriced for his production since joining the Twins six games ago. The 23-year-old switch-hitter has impressed since stepping in for Royce Lewis (groin) and could be forcing his way into a permanent role. Since his call-up, he is 11-for-24 (.458) with a double, a home run and eight RBI to average 11.3 DKFP per game. He opened the series on Monday with a two-hit, two-RBI performance that earned him double-digit DKFP for the third time in his last four games. He’ll be in a tougher matchup against Garrett Crochet ($10,500) and the White Sox this Tuesday, but he has shown plenty of potential to still be a great buy at the hot corner for just $3,000. If he keeps hitting like this, his salary won’t stay this low for long.
SS Xavier Edwards, Miami Marlins at Houston Astros, $2,500
At the beginning of the month, the Marlins moved on from Tim Anderson and placed Otto Lopez (back) on the IL. Those moves cleared the way for the team to recall Edwards, who was their No. 12 prospect last year, according to MLB Pipeline. The 24-year-old switch-hitter got a late start to the year after battling a bacterial infection in his left foot which landed him on the 60-day IL. When he was ready to return, he started the year at Triple-A, where he hit .330 in 29 games with one home run, five stolen bases and a .370 wOBA for the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp. He showed even more speed potential last year swiping 37 bags in 123 games with Jacksonville and Miami. Since being called up a week ago, Edwards has hit safely in six straight starts, going 8-for-23 (.348) with two doubles, two walks and three runs scored. He was thrown out on his only stolen base attempt but has still averaged 6.7 DKFP per contest. Edwards should be locked in as the Marlins’ everyday SS moving forward and brings good upside due to his speed potential while he’s hitting the ball so well.
