Tanner Houck, Boston Red Sox at Toronto Blue Jays, $10,300 – Houck’s the lone pitcher priced above $10K on Tuesday, yet he seems deserving of that honor. The RHP has been on quite the roll all season and, in particular, his last six starts have been incredible, with Houck registering a 1.86 ERA and 2.25 FIP across 38.2 innings of work. Houck’s also been at his best away from Fenway Park in 2024, posting a 1.66 ERA in the road. Add in that fact that the Blue Jays own baseball’s fourth-lowest wOBA so far in June (.282), and you have a recipe for DFS success.

Alec Marsh, Kansas City Royals at Oakland Athletics, $7,600 – Marsh made headlines last week, managing to toss seven scoreless innings against the red-hot Yankees. Well, I’m here to report that that performance wasn’t a fluke. Actually, Marsh has been quite good going all the way to mid-April. In his last nine starts, the RHP is in possession of a 3.40 ERA and a 25.1% strikeout rate. The 26-year-old has also racked up at least seven strikeouts in five of his last seven appearances. I’d expect the whiffs to keep raining down on Tuesday, as the Athletics happen to led MLB in strikeout rate since the beginning of June (26.6%).
INFIELD
Stud
Will Smith, Los Angeles Dodgers at Colorado Rockies, $5,800 – Injuries are mounting for the Dodgers, but they still have the services of Smith. The backstop has been a marvel all season long, yet he’s been especially effective against LHPs. In 74 plate appearances within the split, Smith is slashing .381/.459/.698 with a 217 wRC+. Now imagine what he’ll be able to do versus the left-handed Austin Gomber ($5,800) in the altitude of Colorado.

Brice Turang, Milwaukee Brewers at Los Angeles Angels, $4,700 – There’s a couple reasons to like Turang on this slate. First, he’s left-handed. That’s a massive advantage in a matchup with Griffin Canning ($5,500), as he’s surrendered an inflated .380 wOBA to opposing LHBs so far in 2024. Second, Turang is dangerous on the base paths. The 24-year-old has already swiped 26 bags this season — the second-most of any player in baseball.

Miguel Rojas, Los Angeles Dodgers at Colorado Rockies, $4,000 – I’m not sure I envisioned myself ever paying $4K for the services of Rojas this season, but here we are. The veteran has been on fire in June, hitting .333 with a 145 wRC+ in the month. Rojas has also been quite good in his usual platoon role with the Dodgers, posting a .204 ISO and a .856 OPS in his 59 plate appearances within the split in 2024. Gomber’s allowed 12 earned runs across his last two starts. You’re going to want to stack the Dodgers.

Jon Singleton, Houston Astros at Chicago White Sox, $3,100 – Singleton hasn’t exactly been stuffing the stat sheet as of late, but the former top prospect has been consistently finding himself in the middle of the Astros’ order against RHPs. That should be the case again this evening with Jonathan Cannon ($6,200) on the mound for the White Sox. The sample sizes are small with Cannon, yet in his brief tenure at the MLB level, he’s allowed opposing LHBs to slash .380/.404/.680. Singleton’s got raw power. He can exploit this matchup.
OUTFIELD
Stud
Christian Yelich, Milwaukee Brewers at Los Angeles Angels, $5,700 – Yelich is having his best season in half a decade. It’s that simple. The former MVP is hitting .326 with a 154 wRC+ in 2024. More recently, he’s managed multiple hits in three of his last five games. The only hole in Yelich’s resume is power, but that might not be an issue on Tuesday, as the aforementioned Canning is surrendering a staggering 2.04 home runs per nine to opposing LHBs. If Yelich was ever going to run into a long ball, it’s tonight.

Riley Greene, Detroit Tigers at Atlanta Braves, $4,900 – The Riley Greene breakout is happening. It’s a little odd how quickly people forgot about the 23-year-old, but Greene is starting to live up to his massive potential this season. The outfielder continues to struggle in left-on-left matchups, but he’s been a menace against RHPs, producing a .251 ISO and a 155 wRC+ in his 234 plate appearances within the split. Spencer Schwellenbach ($7,000) is right-handed. He’s also struggled so far at the MLB level.

Jarred Kelenic, Atlanta Braves vs. Detroit Tigers, $3,200 – Speaking of forgotten former top prospects, Kelenic has been on a nice little run for the Braves. The 24-year-old has taken over the team’s leadoff spot due to injury, and he’s thrived in the spotlight, managing five hits with a pair of home runs. For the season as a whole, Kelenic’s been a useful platoon bat, registering a 119 wRC+ against RHPs. Casey Mize ($6,000) should be a pretty good matchup for Kelenic, as the righty owns just a seventh percentile strikeout rate (15.0%) and a 6.15 ERA when pitching on the road in 2024.
