April is just about in the books, but there’s one more monster night of DFS fantasy baseball to send the first month out with a bang. There are 12 matchups on the board for Tuesday night’s main slate with only six teams not in the player pool. Two of the 12 games are divisional matchups while six are interleague matchups, giving fans a chance to see matchups that aren’t quite as typical like the Phillies in Anaheim, the Braves in Seattle and the Giants at Fenway Park. The 12-game slate gets underway at 7:07 p.m. ET, so be sure to have your lineups locked in place and ready to roll.

SP Simeon Woods Richardson, Minnesota Twins at Chicago White Sox, $6,500
The White Sox doubled their win total with a three-game sweep of the Rays this past weekend, but they fell 3-2 in the series opener against the Twins. Taking on the White Sox’s thin lineup is still a great matchup to attack, and getting a young pitcher with a high strikeout ceiling at a good salary in this matchup is too attractive to pass up. Woods Richardson is only 23 years old and was ranked as the No. 24 prospect in the Minnesota system coming into the season. He was traded twice as a prospect, most recently from the Blue Jays to the Twins in the Jose Berrios deal. Woods Richardson shuttled back and forth to Triple-A this season, going 1-0 and allowing three runs in 11 in the MLB with 11 strikeouts. He had 23.7 DKFP and got the win in his season debut in Detroit, and then last week, he went five innings at home against the White Sox allowing two runs with six strikeouts for 14.5 DKFP. Woods Richardson has shown markedly increased velocity this season with a 93.2-mph average fastball. His extra swing-and-miss stuff should play well against the White Sox, who rank seventh in the MLB in K% and are hitting just .207 as a team with an MLB-low .267 wOBA.
2B/OF Whit Merrifield, Philadelphia Phillies at Los Angeles Angels, $3,000
Merrifield has brought power and speed potential throughout his career, and he has been productive recently for the Phillies despite being stuck on the short side of a platoon. After a slow start to his first season in Philadelphia, he has hit safely in each of his last four games, going 6-for-15 (.400) with a double, a home run and a stolen base to average 10.5 DKFP per contest. His home run came against a lefty, which is no surprise since throughout his career the veteran has typically done most of his damage against southpaws. In his career, he is hitting .288 with a .335 wOBA and 110 wRC+ in the split. He’ll likely be back in the lineup Tuesday after a few days off since the Phillies will face lefty Tyler Anderson ($7,600). Anderson has been effective this season overall but has served up four home runs in five starts. Merrifield is 3-for-11 in his career against Anderson, and one of those three hits was a home run.
3B Nick Senzel, Washington Nationals at Texas Rangers, $2,500
Senzel was a top prospect with the Reds but never really panned out and became a regular. He signed with the Nats as a free agent this past offseason and is showing signs of finally putting it all together. He got a late start to the season due to a fractured thumb but has been heating up lately. Since the injury to Lane Thomas (knee), Senzel has settled in the second split in the batting order in a good spot for run production. He is still hitting only .231 through his first 11 games but already has five home runs, nine RBI and a .395 wOBA. Senzel has a 17.2% barrel rate and 34.5% hard-hit rate, per Statcast, and he should be due for some positive regression due to a .174 BABIP. His power is legitimate and his average should improve, so I love getting him at this low salary in a productive spot in the lineup. Senzel and the Nats face Jon Gray ($7,300) in Texas on Tuesday, to start their series with the Rangers.
