On Monday night, Major League Baseball opens another work week of exciting fantasy baseball action with a seven-game main slate on DraftKings that begins at 7:20 p.m. ET. The seven games include four American League matchups and three National League matchups, featuring three divisional contests. One of those intradivisional matchups takes place at Coors Field as the Rockies host the Padres in the game with the highest over/under of the night by a wide margin, according to DraftKings Sportsbook.
As you build your lineups for Monday night’s contests, take a look at these bargain plays that have a good chance to return excellent value at affordable salaries. They can help balance your spending and still provide good production while helping you also afford big-salary stars in other spots.

SP Albert Suarez, Baltimore Orioles at Los Angeles Angels, $4,000
Getting any starting pitcher at $4,000 is a rare opportunity, and Suarez is not only available at the minimum salary for a pitcher but also comes into this start off a strong outing last week and with a good matchup. Suarez is a 34-year-old righty who has bounced around the minors and spent two seasons pitching in the KBO. He came back after his two-year stay with the Samsung Lions and had mixed results in Spring Training before opening the season in Triple-A. He was called up for his first MLB appearance since 2017 last Wednesday, and he only allowed four baserunners in 5 2⁄3 shutout innings against the Twins. He got the victory and earned 18.4 DKFP with four strikeouts and just a 43.8% hard-hit rate allowed, per Statcast. Suarez had one great outing and two rough starts in Triple-A and was also knocked around in some of his appearances this spring, so there’s definitely some risk that the Angels will get to him. However, the Angels have been slightly below league average on offense and have dropped four straight games, scoring zero or one run in three of those four losses. Suarez doesn’t have to do a lot to be worth his $4,000 salary on a per-dollar basis, and if he builds on last week’s outing, he’ll be a great SP option that lets you load up on power bats.
OF Daulton Varsho, Toronto Blue Jays at Kansas City Royals, $3,200
Varsho is still remarkably cheap for a middle-of-the-order option that brings both power and speed potential. In his 22 games this season, he has averaged 7.4 DKFP per contest with five home runs, a .242 batting average, .288 ISO and .363 wOBA. He has hit safely in four of his last five games with three of those home runs while also adding two stolen for an average of 16.8 DKFP per game. All five of his home runs have come in his last nine games, and he is hitting .357 with a .585 wOBA in those nine contests. He and the Jays continue their road trip with a stop in Kansas City to start the week, and they’ll face righty Brady Singer ($9,200) on Monday, putting Varsho on the strong side of his splits.
SS Masyn Winn, St. Louis Cardinals vs. Arizona Diamondbacks, $2,600
Winn was one of the Cardinals’ top prospects when he joined the team last season, but he struggled to just a .172 average in his 37 games. The 22-year-old has looked much more comfortable in the majors this season, leading the team with a .317 batting average along with three doubles, two triples, six RBI and a .357 wOBA in his first 20 games. Winn has brought excellent defense since arriving in the majors and his bat seems to be catching up as he adjusts to MLB pitching. He and the Cardinals will face Brandon Pfaadt ($8,000) in the first game of their series against Arizona. Pfaadt is another top prospect adjusting to the majors and has gone 1-1 with a 5.32 ERA and 4.09 FIP in his four starts this season. Pfaadt gave up six runs in six innings to the Cardinals in one of those starts. Winn is a great way to spend under $3,000 at shortstop and still get good production in addition to salary cap flexibility.
