Fantasy Football Picks: Top DraftKings NFL DFS Value Plays for Week 14

Steve Buchanan gives his top value plays at each position for Sunday’s main DraftKings NFL slate.

NFL: Denver Broncos at Houston Texans Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

We can all figure out who the studs are on a football slate. No one has to go out of their way to tell you to play Patrick Mahomes or Josh Allen on a particular slate. What really takes the effort is combing through the player pool and figuring out who are some of the best values on the board ahead of the Sunday slate. That’s what we’ll do in this piece each and every week. I’ll help you save some salary while hopefully not skimping on the fantasy production.

Let’s get into some of the best value plays at each position for the Week 14 main slate on DraftKings.

Week 13 recap:

QB - Brock Purdy - 32.46 DKFP
RB - Zack Moss - 7.7 DKFP
WR - Jahan Dotson - 4.3 DKFP
TE - Hunter Henry - 3.5 DKFP

Quarterback

Russell Wilson, Denver Broncos at Los Angeles Chargers, $5,800 — Wilson was one of the chalk quarterbacks last week and delivered a solid 18.84 DKFP performance. This week, however, the ownership isn’t looking too heavy (at least as of Thursday night), despite another good matchup. He’ll face a Chargers defense that’s allowing an average of 21 DKFP to the QB position, which is the fourth-highest in the league. Along with 290 passing and 14 rushing yards per game, Wilson should be able to produce numbers he has all season long. Currently, the Broncos are +2.5 underdogs in this game, which I’m honestly a bit surprised about. They’ve been playing good defensively and the Chargers remain one of the worst coached teams in the league. I love that we’ve been seeing Wilson run the ball as well, as he’s logged 21 attempts over his last two games with two rushing touchdowns. If that becomes a more consistent part of his game again, $5,800 is a steal.

Other Option – Jake Browning vs. IND

Running Back

Chuba Hubbard, Carolina Panthers at New Orleans Saints, $5,600 — No one wants to play Hubbard. Despite the cheap price tag and seemingly the RB1 in their offense, he continues to get glossed over. Even ahead of this week, his ownership is checking in somewhere around 6-9%. With the Panthers as +5 underdogs, the game script isn’t exactly in his favor, Yet, over the past two weeks, Hubbard has carried the ball 39 times for 149 yards and three touchdowns. The Saints have been good against the run but so were the Bucs last week and he torched them for 104 yards and two touchdowns. It seems clear that Hubbard is no longer in a time share under their new head coach and he’s entrenched into the RB1 role. With very little cheap options to go to, Hubbard is the way to do it.

Other Options – Zack Moss at CIN

Wide Receiver

Drake London, Atlanta Falcons vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers, $4,600 — London is a difficult click each and every week. In the run first offense of the Falcons, his week-to-week offense is extremely volatile. However, if there was a week where he could put up some big numbers, this is one of them. Going up against a very generous Bucs secondary, London is priced the lowest we’ve seen all season long. In coverage, London will see Carlton Davis and Zyon McCollum. Davis is allowing a 69% reception rate and 14.4 YPR while McCollum is at only a 49% reception rate but 12.5 YPR. Davis is allowing a 69% reception rate and 14.4 YPR while McCollum is at only a 49% reception rate but 12.5 YPR. In an expect tight game, London should be more involved in a much better matchup.

Other Options – Jackson Smith-Njiga at SF

Tight End

Cole Kmet, Chicago Bears vs. Detroit Lions, $4,300 – Kmet is caught in no mans land for salary this week. He’s not exactly a value but he’s not expensive either. With this in mind, I’m not expecting his ownership to get out of hand, as he’s currently sitting with a projection between 8-10%. As you’d expect against the Lions, the Bears are underdogs and that should bring a positive game script for Kmet. He’s been one of the favorite targets for Justin Fields, averaging 5.3 targets when Fields is active. Kmet also leads the team in red zone targets with 11. The Lions have allowed six touchdowns to the position, which is tied for the second-most in the league.

Other Options – Michael Mayer vs. MIN
