Fantasy Football Picks: Top DraftKings NFL DFS Value Plays for Week 12

Steve Buchanan gives his top value plays at each position for Sunday’s main DraftKings NFL slate.

NFL: Tampa Bay Buccaneers at San Francisco 49ers Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

We can all figure out who the studs are on a football slate. No one has to go out of their way to tell you to play Patrick Mahomes or Josh Allen on a particular slate. What really takes the effort is combing through the player pool and figuring out who are some of the best values on the board ahead of the Sunday slate. That’s what we’ll do in this piece each and every week. I’ll help you save some salary while hopefully not skimping on the fantasy production.

Let’s get into some of the best value plays at each position for the Week 12 main slate on DraftKings.

Week 11 recap:

QB - Jordan Love - 23.88 DKFP
RB - Jerome Ford - 11.9 DKFP
WR - Rondale Moore - 12.4 DKFP
TE - Tyler Conklin - 3.8 DKFP

Baker Mayfield, Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Indianapolis Colts, $5,500 — The pricing on Mayfield hasn’t really budged throughout the season, despite him playing well. At $5,500, this is tied for the highest he’s seen all season and he draws a good matchup on top of it. The Colts' secondary is in some serious disarray currently. It’s looking as if we’ll see Jaylon Jones and Darrell Baker Jr on the outside, as JuJu Brents continues to not practice. Baker, in particular, is allowing over 13 yards per reception on 21 catches in coverage. This could lead to big plays from both Mike Evans and Trey Palmer. Mayfield has been playing very well lately and is averaging 17.7 DKFP over his last five games. At $5,500, this feels like a huge spot for Mayfield and a Bucs team that is throwing over 60% of the time.

Other Option – Gardner Minshew vs. TB

Running Back

Jaylen Warren, Pittsburgh Steelers at Cincinnati Bengals, $5,400 — The past two weeks for Warren have been crazy. He’s gained 230 yards on 24 carries and two touchdowns. That’s a ridiculous 9.5 YPC. You don’t need me to tell you that’s unsustainable and won’t continue. That being said, his role is large enough that he should be considered a value at his current price of $5,400. They’ll be taking on a Bengals team that is now regulated to their back in Jake Browning ($5,200). It’s still expected to be a close game with the Steelers as -1.5 favorites as of Friday afternoon. This type of game should keep Warren involved, even with Harris in the mix. To opposing running backs, the Bengals have allowed an average of 22.3 DKFP, 92 rushing yards and 27 through the air per game.

Other Options – James Conner vs. LAR

Wide Receiver

Greg Dortch, Arizona Cardinals vs Los Angeles Rams, $3,300 — The Cardinals receivers continue to provide good value at the receiver position. With Michael Wilson once again ruled out, we should see a sizable role for Dortch in this offense. Last week, we quadrupled his total targets on the season, when he drew eight. He turned that into six receptions and 76 yards, good for 13.6 DKFP. In coverage, Dortch should mainly be up against CB Ahkello Witherspoon, who has allowed over 14 YPR on 25 catches. At this dirt-cheap price point, Dortch should be heavily involved in a game where the Cardinals are underdogs.

Other Options – Justin Watson at LV

Tight End

David Njoku, Cleveland Browns at Denver Broncos, $4,100 – I’d expect Njoku to be a fairly popular play on Sunday against the Broncos. They’ve been tormented by opposing tight ends this season, allowing an average of 16.8 DKFP, 72 receiving yards, and five touchdowns. With Dorian Thompson-Robinson under center, Njoku saw a ridiculous 15 targets, in which he made seven catches for 12.6 DKFP. Sure, the box score was a bit disappointing see how many targets he saw, but even if he sees half of those targets on Sunday, the results could be much, much better.

Other Options – Michael Mayer ($2,700) vs. KC
