This season has been a bit of a nightmare for the Minnesota Vikings and things don’t get much easier to end Week 7, as the team will line up against the San Francisco 49ers. Can Minnesota pull off the upset? Will both team be at full-strength? Let’s break it all down from a Showdown perspective. […]

Let’s be completely honest. We haven’t gotten the absolute best baseball this year in October. There’s been lopsided games, horrible pitching performances and, of course, lineups that couldn’t get a clutch hit to save their own lives — I’m looking at you Dodgers and Blue Jays. However, that’s what makes a contest like Game 3 […]

We’ve got a pair of pivotal contests on tap for this evening. Game 3 of the NLCS gets going just past 5:00 p.m. ET in Arizona, while Game 4 of the ALCS gets underway in Texas around 8:00 p.m. ET. So, that’s pretty much your whole night right there, isn’t it? Here are a couple […]

Look, I don’t want to completely make this about me and the life choices I made to get to this point in my career, but if there’s one thing I truly hate, it’s writing Showdown articles where we don’t know the status of one team’s star quarterback. It sort of defeats the purpose, you know? […]

Well, the Arizona Diamondbacks finally lost a playoff game on Monday night, falling 5-3 in Game 1 of the NLCS to the Philadelphia Phillies. However, the club will quickly get a chance to rebound on Tuesday, with another pair of aces taking the hill at Citizens Bank Park. Will the young Diamondbacks tie up the […]

I’m not sure if you noticed during yesterday’s action, but the AFC absolutely wiped the floor with the NFC in head-to-head competition. Six games. Six wins. That includes the 49ers and the Eagles losing their previously undefeated campaigns in surprising upsets. Can the Los Angeles Chargers make that a 7-0 record for Week 6 with […]

There’s only one series still going in the Divisional Round of the MLB playoffs, but thankfully, it’s the one with the most storylines. The Braves and the Phillies will square off this evening with the home team just a single win away from advancing to the NLCS for the second consecutive season. ‘Atta boy, Philadelphia. […]

There’s a real chance this contest gets ugly. Time and time again in 2023, the Denver Broncos have proven to be one of the worst teams in football — specifically on the defensive side of the ball. That’s a bad formula in general, but it’s especially bad when you’re about to face-off with Patrick Mahomes […]

According to my very meticulous calculations, this will be the last MLB slate in 2023 with more than two games on it. Believe me. I’ve triple-checked the numbers. We get things going with Game 3 in Philadelphia, then shift our collective focus to a pair of elimination games in Minnesota and Arizona. It’s all quite […]

We’re a week into the MLB playoffs and things have been a little weird. Remember how good the AL East was supposed to be? Well, the division is 0-6 in the postseason entering play Tuesday. Remember how good the Dodgers were after the All-Star break? Well, they’re currently down 2-0 to the Diamondbacks and on […]

There’s no way around it. Davante Adams ($11,200; shoulder) is the biggest storyline for tonight’s matchup between the Las Vegas Raiders and the Green Bay Packers. Not only is Adams currently listed as questionable after missing practice on Thursday and Friday, but this is also the wideout’s first game against the organization where he spent […]
