Horschel has withdrawn from the 3M Open for an undisclosed reason and will be replaced in the field by Adam Long. With a T13 finish in his 3M Open debut last year and, more importantly, with Horschel coming off a runner-up finish at the Open Championship last week — which is the veteran’s best major finish to date — Horschel was the ninth-most rostered golfer in the $800K Summer Sand Trap contest at 15.06%. Unfortunately, with the former FedEx Cup champion withdrawing after roster lock and near his tee time, any DFS player that rostered Horschel with accrue no FPTS for the golfer. Plus, in his convincing form, Horschel carried +2200 odds to win the 3M Open on the DraftKings Sportsbook before the start of this event.
After an up-and-down campaign last season, Horschel has been excellent this season, with nine top 25 finishes in 19 starts, including a win at the Corales Puntacana Championship in April. His T2 at the Open Championship moved Horschel up 29 spots in the world golf rankings to No. 33, which is the highest he has ranked since April of 2023.
Horschel’s next chance to tee it up will be at the Wyndham Championship in two weeks, where he is one of the highest ranked golfers currently listed in that field. If healthy and available for this event, Horschel will be an appealing target. This tournament will be held at Sedgefield CC, where Horschel has finished T6 or better three of the last four years.
