The Indianapolis Colts enter a sort of reset season in 2024 as they attempt to move past their 2023 issues. After they used their early draft pick to select quarterback Anthony Richardson out of Florida, the Colts were forced to start backup Gardner Minshew for most of the season after Richardson sustained a season-ending injury early in the year. They were also dealing with contract renegotiation issues with running back Jonathan Taylor, and Taylor’s presence on the field was inconsistent as his relationship with the franchise became contentious.
This season, Richardson is expected to be back on the field, and Taylor has been signed to a three-year extension. The Colts picked up wide receiver Adonai Mitchell out of Texas in the draft and signed veteran Joe Flacco as their backup QB.

Biggest offensive NFL Draft additions
The Colts kicked off their draft with a defensive selection, but grabbed wide receiver Adonai Mitchell out of Texas in the second round. We can expect Mitchell to get worked into the target rotation in his rookie season. He finished 2023 with 845 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns as a Longhorn. The Colts also beefed up their offensive line in the draft, adding OT Matt Goncalves and guard Tanor Bortolini.

Anthony Richardson will benefit from having another solid target option in Mitchell, but we don’t expect to see Josh Downs or Michael Pittman lose out on fantasy points because of the Round 2 draft pick.
