The Dallas Mavericks are officially on the brink of elimination in the 2024 NBA Finals, entering Friday’s Game 4 against the Boston Celtics down 3-0. The Mavericks will attempt to stave off the inevitable, as no team has ever successfully overcome this deficit in the NBA playoffs. Despite being in two close games after the Game 1 blowout, Dallas has been unable to make the key plays late in the contest to get on the board.
Here’s a look at our favorite Mavericks player props for Game 4, with odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.
Kyrie Irving over 2.5 3-pointers (+105)
After going 0-8 from behind the arc across the first two games in Boston, Irving canned four triples in six attempts in Game 3. Even though he won’t admit it, it’s clear the Celtics fans have been able to rattle Irving since he left the franchise and he’s obviously more comfortable playing in Dallas. In a desperation effort, I see Irving shooting early and often which makes me believe he’ll go over this mark again tonight.
Luka Doncic under 8.5 assists (-108)
Doncic continues to take a lot of shots in this offense, as he should. However, he’s not getting many easy looks and his injuries continue to bother him. The guard should attempt to involve his teammates more but he has good reason to go at this alone given how the supporting cast has shot the ball. Doncic has gone under this line in two of the three Finals games and after all, you need someone on the other side of a pass to hit a shot for the assist to happen. The shot-making hasn’t been there from Dallas’ other players, which means Doncic will have a tough time clearing this line in Game 4.
P.J. Washington over 6.5 rebounds (-122)
It’s been an interesting series for Washington, who has actually played well given his role in this Mavericks team. He’s averaging 14.7 points and 7.7 rebounds per game, which is more than enough as a third option. Unfortunately, it’s not good enough against this particular opponent. Scoring will fluctuate for the Dallas forward but I’ll back him to continue his solid rebounding in Game 4. Washington has gone over this mark in every Finals game so far and should keep attacking the glass at home.
