1. Max Verstappen ($15,000) — Monaco is a one-off race. Verstappen’s disappointing finish (sixth) doesn’t mean much. McLaren’s gains do, but that could be a positive development in DFS F1. If Verstappen’s salary decreases due to competition, he’ll become a more viable target in Fantasy Formula 1.

2. Lando Norris ($11,000) — McLaren has the pace to go toe-to-toe with Red Bull. Norris won at Miami and wasn’t far behind Verstappen in the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix (runner-up). The Canadian Grand Prix is shaping up to be one of the most exciting races in the last two seasons.

3. Charles Leclerc ($11,600) — Don’t count out Ferrari. The Canadian Grand Prix is not a two-horse race between Red Bull and McLaren. The Prancing Horse is a part of this battle. Leclerc’s Monaco win may not say much from an equipment standpoint, but psychologically, Leclerc’s win was Ferrari’s biggest win in years.

4. Carlos Sainz ($9,200) — Don’t dismiss Monaco. The prestigious Memorial Day Weekend race in the streets of Monte Carlo is more show than race. Passing doesn’t exist. It’s all about qualifying. A quality Monaco Q-run requires maximizing speed in slow corners. Ferrari did it the best. High-speed straights and — most importantly — tight low-speed corners define the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal, Canada.

5. Oscar Piastri ($10,000) — Is it Piastri’s turn? Lando Norris got the breakthrough win at Miami. F1 is back on North American soil. Piastri was the runner-up in the previous round in the Monaco Grand Prix.

6. Lewis Hamilton ($7,200) — Mercedes is rumored to unveil significant upgrades in the Canadian Grand Prix. The Silver Arrows may be unable to take the fight to the top three teams, but Hamilton doesn’t need to at this salary.

7. Alexander Albon ($4,400) — The 2023 season was a big step forward for Albon. This season has been a disappointment for Albon and Williams. The problem is the car. It’s overweight. Williams plans to address this issue with their latest model in the Canadian Grand Prix.

8. Kevin Magnusson ($3,200) — This isn’t just the typical DFS F1 value pick. Save money and hope K-Mag finishes better than Nico Hulkenberg ($4,600). Magnusson’s Haas has pace if he can’t keep it clean.

9. Pierre Gasly ($3,800) — Esteban Ocon ($4,000) is out. After an eventful Monaco Grand Prix — Ocon wrecked into his teammate Gasly — the rumors came true. Ocon is a lame-duck driver. All of the resources and attention will go to Gasly.

10. Lance Stroll ($4,800) — How could this go wrong? So many ways. It’s Lance Stroll. The Canadian will push in his home race. He needs to push if he’s going to do anything. Pushing leads to wrecking, but Stroll needs to live on the edge or he’ll live outside the points.
