For the 117th time, the Ole Miss Rebels and Mississippi State Bulldogs will battle for the Golden Egg Trophy. Kickoff will be Davis Wade Stadium at Scott Field. Ole Miss has 64-46-6 lead in the overall series, but Mississippi State earned a 24-22 win in the game last year. The Bulldogs will be playing their second game under interim coach Greg Knox.
Mississippi (10-2, 5-2 SEC) closed out their home schedule with a 35-3 win over the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks. Quarterback Jaxson Dart threw for 310 yards and three touchdowns. With a win the Rebels will have their second 10-win season under coach Lane Kiffin.
Mississippi State (5-6, 1-6 SEC) inched one step closer to bowl eligibility with a 41-20 win over the Southern Miss Golden Eagles. The Bulldogs racked up 238 yards rushing with Jeffrey Pittman leading the way with 98 yards and a touchdown. Quarterback Will Rogers threw for two scores as well.
