This game feels like a pressure cooker. The 4-4 Rams had much higher expectations for this season and need to keep building momentum if they want to stay in a competitive NFC playoff race. And despite being 2-4-1 this season, the Commanders are squarely in the playoff mix due to the weakness of the NFC East. With kickoff only 48 hours before the trade deadline, this should be a fascinating matchup, and the player prop market is full of intrigue.
Los Angeles is a 4.5-point road favorite on DraftKings Sportsbook. Washington is +195 to pull off the upset, with the total set at 47.5 points. Let’s dive into the top player prop bets for Sunday’s clash between the Rams and the Commanders.
Rams vs. Commanders NFL Player Prop Bets
Matthew Stafford 270+ Passing Yards (+147)
It has been a mercurial start to the season for Matthew Stafford, to say the least. The reigning NFL MVP struggled out of the gate in Week 1, throwing for only 155 yards in a loss to the 49ers in Australia. After that, he ripped off four straight games with 300+ passing yards, looking like his old self. Then he stumbled again, throwing for 222 yards, then 195, before dropping to a paltry 157 in last week’s game against the Chargers. It leaves Stafford in a strange spot, and Davante Adams’ injury won’t make a bounce-back any easier.
If there was a time for a bounce-back, it’s against this Commanders defense. They consistently have one of the league’s worst secondaries, and continuing to play struggling corner Mike Sainristil isn’t helping anyone. They’ve allowed 1,701 passing yards through their first seven games, one of the worst marks in the league, and they’ll keep struggling against Stafford.
Kyren Williams 4+ Receptions (+168)
Blake Corum’s encroachment on the Rams’ running game has continued throughout this season, but Kyren Williams’ hold on the passing-down work out of the backfield is ironclad.
So far this season, Williams has racked up 33 receptions and is poised to shatter the career-high of 36 he set last year. He’s at times become the de facto No. 2 receiver behind Puka Nacua and is second on the team in receptions. That has slowed down in the past couple of weeks; he’s recorded only three combined receptions over the last two games while the Rams dominated the game script.
I expect the Commanders to put up a solid fight here, forcing Los Angeles to keep the ball moving through the air. It certainly helps that Williams dominates the two-minute-drill snaps, which are prime territory for a pass-catching running back. It’ll be electric to watch him do battle with stud rookie linebacker Sonny Styles in the flats.
