History was made on Halloween night. In the first-ever WNBA Finals Game 7, the Atlanta Dream and Golden State Valkyries battled for their first franchise title. Due to an incredible defensive performance and an all-time second half from Gabby Williams, the Valkyries hoisted the championship trophy in their second year as a franchise. It was a special ending to a special season for the entire league, and I can’t wait for the 2027 season. Let’s look ahead at the favorites for next year’s title.
Here’s a look at the opening odds for the 2027 WNBA Finals winner on the DraftKings Sportsbook:

The Minnesota Lynx, who dominated the 2026 regular season, start as +310 favorites to win it all. The Las Vegas Aces follow closely as title contenders as long as A’ja Wilson wears silver and black. Behind them is the Atlanta Dream at +400, looking to avenge their tight Game 7 loss to the Valkyries, who are +450 to repeat as champions.
Two Eastern Conference foes are tied for fifth overall at +900. The New York Liberty and Indiana Fever, both of which have made deep playoff runs in recent years, are squarely in the mix. Dallas comes in seventh after a playoff leap in 2026, and the Washington Mystics come in eighth. From there, a lot of teams are on the outside looking in on the playoff race.
It’s going to be a busy offseason, with lots of player movement expected and shifting odds all over the place. Odds will move a lot as stars change teams. It’s time to start picking your horse for 2027; after watching that Valkyries game, anything is possible.
