Savion Williams Fantasy Football Start or Sit Advice for Week 7

Savion Williams finally made his 2026 debut in Week 6 after missing the first five weeks with an ankle injury, catching all four of his targets against Dallas and adding two carries. Now he is questionable after being limited with that same ankle throughout the week, and Green Bay heads to Detroit to face a defense that has been torched by receivers. Find out whether you should start or sit Savion Williams in Week 7.

Savion Williams Start or Sit Advice for Week 7

The matchup is the reason he is even on the radar. Detroit allows 40.3 PPR points per game to wide receivers against a league average of 32.0, along with 194.8 receiving yards and 144.4 air yards per game. Receivers are catching 67.9% of their targets against the Lions, well above the league mark of 62.1%.

Some of that damage needs context. Detroit has faced New Orleans, Buffalo, the Jets, Carolina and Arizona, and opponents have thrown 36% above league average against them, a figure inflated by productive passing attacks from Carolina, New Orleans and Buffalo. Even so, the Lions’ secondary is still working back to full strength. Cornerback Rock Ya-Sin returned on a limited basis this week, and safeties Brian Branch, Kerby Joseph and Thomas Harper remain on injured reserve.

Green Bay’s receiver depth is also thinner than usual. Skyy Moore is on injured reserve, and Bo Melton has been dealing with a back issue. Williams showed in his debut that the Packers want to get him the ball in a variety of ways, using him on carries as well as short targets. In a game that could turn into a shootout, with Detroit’s offense scoring 32.8 points per game, extra snaps for depth receivers are possible.

The Biggest Fantasy Risk for Savion Williams in Week 7

The role is tiny. Williams has one game under his belt this season, and his four targets amounted to a 1.8% share of Green Bay’s season total. Matthew Golden leads the Packers with 57 targets and 9.5 per game, Christian Watson has 48, and Tucker Kraft has 37. Matt LaFleur expressed no concern about Golden or Watson playing despite their own limited practice weeks, so Williams is unlikely to see his role expand.

The ankle adds another layer of uncertainty. Williams was limited throughout the week with the same injury that kept him out for more than a month, and a questionable tag on a depth receiver can mean a reduced snap count even if he plays. Jordan Love has also been limited this week with a back issue.

His fantasy line in Week 6 also shows the ceiling problem. Four catches for 32 yards and 9 rushing yards produced 8.1 PPR points, which is a reasonable floor for a depth option but leaves little room for a breakout without a touchdown or a long play.

Fantasy Outlook for Savion Williams in Week 7

Sit Williams in Week 7. The Lions’ secondary has been generous all season, and Green Bay’s depth chart is thinner than usual, but Williams has one game of usage, a minimal target share and a lingering ankle injury.

He belongs on benches in nearly all formats. Only fantasy managers in the deepest leagues who are desperate for a bye-week fill from the Chargers, Commanders, Bills and Jaguars should consider him, and even then he is a long shot to deliver more than a handful of points.
