Go OFF, Anthony Davis
It’s turning into a massive night for Anthony Davis in Washington. Making his home debut for the Wizards, Davis is putting up a monster performance, piling up 30 points, 11 rebounds, and four assists through three quarters.
He and Paolo Banchero are neck and neck for setting the top mark in the early window. We’ll see which big man closes with the strongest fourth quarter.
Big Juice in Brooklyn
There are many big debuts in the NBA tonight, and Julius Randle’s debut for the Nets is among the least-heralded star moves. But he’s making big waves early on, stuffing the stat sheet. In the first half, Randle racked up 15 points, four rebounds, and five assists.
As our first game winds down and the 8:00 ET slate heads into halftime, there are plenty of players to watch. Paolo Banchero remains our leader with 36 P/R/A, but there’s lots of time left for others to catch him.
Battle in South Beach
Giannis Antetokounmpo isn’t the only man in Miami vying for King of the Court. Anthony Edwards is heating up in a big way, piling up 26 P/R/A before halftime. He’s enjoying the trash talk with Giannis, too.
It looks like we’ve got all the stars out tonight. Stay tuned as things keep heating up at the top of the leaderboard.
Welcome to Miami, Giannis
Seeing Giannis Antetokounmpo in a Heat jersey is going to take some getting used to. But Miami fans must be excited. In a feisty contest with the Timberwolves, Giannis is up to 21 points halfway through the second quarter. This could be a monster night for the two-time MVP.
Giannis, Paolo Banchero, and Anthony Davis have firmly established themselves as top contenders in KOTC so far. It must be a big man night. Let’s see who else gets in on the action.
PB Brought His J
I feel a new superstition forming. Paolo Banchero showed up for opening night without his customary headband, debuting a new look for the new season. Perhaps the headband was holding him back. Orlando’s All-Star is cooking, leading all scorers with 15 points.
No stranger to filling the stat sheet, Paolo could have a night against a fast-paced Hawks team. Let’s see what he’s got in store for us.
Hello, NAW
Last year’s Most Improved Player, expectations are high for Nickeil Alexander-Walker and the Hawks this season. So far, so good for NAW, as he gets it going early against the Orlando Magic. At the beginning of the second quarter, NAW has established himself as one of the early P/R/A leaders with nine points, three boards, and two assists in only eight minutes of action.
An explosive scorer, NAW could go nuclear and make a push for the crown. Let’s see if he can do it, and keep an eye out as tonight’s slate gets in full swing.
AD Cooks Early
It’s time to get the Trae Young-Anthony Davis era underway in Washington. Playing at home against the Milwaukee Bucks to kick off their season, AD is going wild early on. The dynamic big man has 10 points, six rebounds, and an assist in the early going.
We’ve got a lot of hoops to jump through, but AD is making a big first move toward the King of the Court crown. Let’s see who else gets it going.
