Survivor 51 is off to an exciting start. We have already had a player quit the show, a tribe swap and some shocking blindsides. The excitement should keep going tonight in Episode 5.
What’s on tap for the remaining castaways? Below, we’ll recap all the twists and turns from Wednesday’s fifth episode, titled “Not Here to Get a Pedicure,” along with revealing who was voted out.
Survivor 51 Episode 5 Recap
The Immunity Challenge
The first big announcement of the episode was that only one immunity idol would be up for grabs for the three tribes. That means two tribes will be going to tribal council and two people will be going home tonight. In addition to getting immunity, the winning tribe will also get the reward of a basket of pastries. Toka jumped out to an early lead in the challenge and never gave it up. So, Toka is safe, and both Dina and Savu are off to tribal council.
Savu Tribe
Ori, Alexis, Jelly and Devin are the four remaining members in Savu. The natural alliances are Jelly and Devin versus Ori and Alexis, as they were both former tribemates before the swap. Ori also has the “helicopter alliance” with Jelly and Devin, so Alexis would be the natural vote to avoid rocks. However, every person voted out of the game so far has been a woman. Jelly has a real problem with that and doesn’t want to continue the trend. The move could then be to blindside Devin instead.
Dina Tribe
Kilby and Lewis are the two outcasts on Dina. The rest of the tribe are former Savu members. Kilby has fit in much better with the rest of the group, so Lewis is very much on the ropes. Lewis decided to lie to Sharonda and tell her that he got a “blood idol,” which would link their lives for the next two tribal councils. Meaning, if Lewis was voted out, Sharonda would go home too. That was, of course, a totally made-up thing.
Toka Tribe
Toka got back to their camp to find out that one player would be taken away and not able to participate in the reward. While several people volunteered, Maggie went off in the boat to whatever waited ahead. She was told that she could go to either of the tribes that were headed for tribal council and give away an extra vote to someone on another tribe. Maggie decided to go to Dina and give both of her extra votes to Lewis and Kilby, telling them to use those votes to get Linnea out.
The Tribal Councils
The Savu tribe went to tribal council first. Devin made it clear that he would never go against Jelly. However, the big question was whether or not Jelly would go against Devin. Either Jelly will flip on Devin, or Ori will flip on Alexis. Ultimately, the helicopter alliance stuck together, and Alexis was voted out.
The Dina tribe went next. The big question was whether Kilby was willing to use the extra votes to pull off a blindside, or if he would stick with the plan to vote out Lewis. Kilby and Lewis did decide to use their extra votes on Linnea, making it a 4-4 tie. That led to a revote, with Lewis and Linnea as the only two people on the chopping block. The votes were deadlocked once again. Meaning, the rest of the group either had to come to an agreement, or they would draw rocks.
Kilby decided he was willing to go to rocks, rather than vote out Lewis. Unlike Kilby, the other tribe members were not willing to risk their own games to save Linnea. Therefore, they decided to vote Linnea out, rather than go to rocks.
