Week 6 of the NFL season has arrived! As the season continues, additional significant injuries keep piling up around the league, setting the stage for tough lineup decisions for every fantasy manager. Let’s break down my fantasy football start/sit Week 6 picks for the 2026 season.
Week 6 Fantasy Football Start/Sit Picks
QB Start/Sit Week 6
Start: Jordan Love vs. Cowboys
The Packers are still working to put all of the pieces together, but Jordan Love has looked like an evolved, more effective presence under center to open the year. Love has always flashed elite arm talent, but has often paired it with poor decision-making. That hasn’t been the case through five outings in 2026, as he’s racked up 10 passing touchdowns to just three interceptions.
Love has tossed two TDs in all five of his games, setting a solid fantasy baseline. His first real breakout performance of the year came against the Bears this past Sunday, as he completed 25 of 31 attempts for 367 yards and a pair of scores. The emergence of Christian Watson as a legitimate No. 1 has played a huge role in Love’s elevated production, and that should remain the case this week against Dallas. The Cowboys’ defense is once again porous, surrendering the fourth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks. Fire Love up as a strong QB1.
Sit: Jalen Hurts vs. Panthers
Hurts was my sit of the week at his position on Sunday and he fulfilled that role effectively, putting up 13 points. It was the third consecutive outing in which the former Super Bowl MVP failed to score 14 fantasy points.
Make no mistake, this drop in production isn’t all on Hurts. The Eagles have been absolutely decimated by injuries to open the 2026 campaign. DeVonta Smith is dealing with a hamstring injury, Saquon Barkley has the same ailment and both of his backups are now hurt. To make matters worse, surefire Hall-of-Famer Lane Johnson retired mid-season. As you would imagine, that puts a lot of pressure on Hurts, and he lacks the arm talent and mobility he once had to make up for the holes in this offense. So, despite the favorable matchup against Carolina, you can’t justify starting Philly’s signal caller in Week 6.
WR Start/Sit Week 6
Start: Keenan Allen vs. Titans
Daniel Jones needed someone to throw to, and Keenan Allen has been happy to oblige him. Sometimes, it really is that straightforward.
In the last two that games Allen has suited up for (he missed Indy’s Week 4 matchup) he has played a significant role, catching 11 of 18 targets for 108 yards and a touchdown. At 34 years old, Allen isn’t going to run by anyone at this point in his career, but he’s still one of the most polished route runners the league has ever seen, and that can always translate to production.
Allen draws the Titans this week, and Tennessee ranks in the top third of the league in fantasy points allowed to receivers. Fire the veteran up as a solid WR3/FLEX thanks to his floor.
Sit: Jaylen Waddle vs. Seahawks
Spoiler alert: this will be the first of multiple Broncos appearing as sits in this article.
Sean Payton reclaimed play calling duties from Davis Webb heading into a clash with the Chargers, and the veteran offensive mind did enough to secure the win, but not much more. In fact, one could argue that Justin Herbert and company beat themselves, which has become a recurring trend in 2026.
The start to Waddle’s Broncos tenure has been a mixed bag. The speedster broke out in Week 2, but has largely disappointed besides that performance. He hauled in only two balls for 19 yards against the Chargers, adding nine rushing yards as well. That doesn’t inspire confidence heading into a Week 6 clash against the Seahawks, who allow the fourth-fewest fantasy points to receivers. Keep Waddle sidelined until he and Denver’s offense show signs of life.

RB Start/Sit Week 6
Start: Rhamondre Stevenson vs. Jets
TreVeyon Henderson truthers may have to wrap it up.
Yes, the speedy second-year back did suffer an ankle injury that could keep him sidelined for a while, but even with Henderson available, Rhamondre Stevenson has owned the Patriots’ backfield. As long as the veteran holds onto the ball, he’s one of the most solid, dependable RBs in the league. Stevenson racked up his second-straight game with at least 17 PPR points against the Raiders, rushing 13 times for 64 yards and a touchdown, while adding three for 21 through the air.
With Henderson sidelined, Stevenson steps into must-start territory against the Jets. New York has surrendered the ninth-most fantasy points to running backs, putting Rhamondre in position to record RB1 numbers.
Sit: RJ Harvey vs. Seahawks
As promised, here’s the second Bronco earning a sit of the week nod. This one’s not necessarily the player’s fault, however. For whatever reason, Sean Payton seems to believe that J.K. Dobbins is a drastically better running back than RJ Harvey, whereas general consensus and stats would suggest otherwise pretty conclusively.
Unfortunately for fantasy managers who have benefited from Harvey’s passing-game production, they aren’t calling the shots in Denver. Payton is, and he reduced Harvey to three touches for seven total yards last week. This comes after the elite receiving threat put together 16 receptions over his prior two contests, making Payton’s decision a major head-scratcher.
As long as Payton is calling plays in Denver, you need to keep Harvey on the bench until he gets on the field again.
TE Start/Sit Week 6
Start: Pat Freiermuth at Buccaneers
Don’t look now, but Muth is back on the fantasy map.
The veteran tight end has emerged as one of Aaron Rodgers’ favorite targets early in the 2026 season. He isn’t always going to rack up significant yardage, but Freiermuth has found the end zone three times over Pittsburgh’s last two games. That production almost certainly won’t continue at said rate, but Freiermuth does draw a favorable matchup in Week 6 against the Bucs. Tampa Bay has been vulnerable against tight ends, allowing the eighth-most fantasy points per game to the position. All of those factors are enough to bump Freiermuth into TE1 range this week.
Sit: Colston Loveland at Falcons
Following a Week 4 performance that gave fantasy managers optimism that Loveland was finally returning to form, he reverted into fantasy irrelevance against Green Bay. The dynamic playmaker hasn’t looked the part of that label in his second pro season, catching just 13 balls over five games.
Even if Caleb Williams (hamstring) returns in Week 6, it’s become impossible to trust Loveland until he carves out a role for himself in this passing attack again. There are better options at tight end for your fantasy lineups.
