Best NHL Anytime Goalscorer Picks Today

Artturi Lehkonen Anytime Goalscorer (+255)

Lehkonen leads the Avalanche in goals through the first three outings of the season, scoring twice in the season opener and once in the second game. He was held off the scoresheet in the third game, but tonight’s tilt against the Flames is a great bounce-back spot for the 31-year-old winger. Lehkonen ranks 15th in goals per 60 and sixth in goals above expected, with two of his three goals coming on the man advantage. He doesn’t have the luxury of playing on the top power play line alongside Colorado’s top players, but he is still taking advantage of his opportunities, and he should see plenty of those tonight, given the fact that Calgary ranks third in penalty minutes per game and first in goals against per 60.

Andrei Svechnikov Anytime Goalscorer (+150)

Although it was an empty-netter, Svechnikov logged his first goal of the season in Carolina’s most recent game on Tuesday, and sooner or later, his offensive aggression is going to translate to goals. Among all skaters, he ranks 13th in shot attempts per 60 and is tied for first in xGoals per 60. To keep it simple: the goals are coming, and tonight’s matchup against the Canucks is a great spot for that to happen. Vancouver ranks 11th in xGoals against per 60 and fifth in goals against per 60 through its first four games, and while Edmonton’s onslaught across the first two games certainly inflates these numbers, the defense in front of the goaltenders isn’t necessarily making it easy, allowing the third-most high-danger chances against. Surprisingly, Kevin Lankinen will start for Vancouver, and he sports an abysmal 6.50 GAA and .824 SV% this season.
