UPDATE: Rice has been downgraded to doubtful.
Kansas City Chiefs’ wide receiver Rashee Rice has left today’s matchup with the Las Vegas Raiders and is questionable to return with a hamstring injury.
In the early stages of the first quarter, Rice pulled in a short pass from Patrick Mahomes and was attempting to turn upfield when he was bothered by a non-contact issue. Rice immediately limped to the sideline and has been under evaluation by trainers since.
This lone reception was called back due to a penalty, so Rice did not officially record a statistic before leaving the game.
Both the Chiefs and Raiders are off to 3-0 starts to the season, and this could be an important matchup when it comes to divisional seedings. Rice is a major part of the Kansas City attack and has notched 13 receptions for 190 yards and a touchdown so far this season. The early signs are not overly encouraging for the wide receiver’s outlook, but more information will be added as it is made public by the team.
