Fantasy Football TE Sleepers for Week 4: 5 Tight Ends to Consider

Published:

By: Zach Thompson

Finding the right fantasy football TE sleepers can make a huge impact in Week 4, especially for managers dealing with injuries, difficult matchups or tough start-sit decisions. Beyond the obvious weekly starters, several tight end sleepers could see increased opportunities this week.

Each week, we highlight five tight ends who have a path to outperform expectations because of their role, matchup, recent usage or opportunities in their offense. These picks can help season-long fantasy football managers looking for a sleeper or FLEX option, and we include DraftKings salaries for players in good spots to provide DFS value.

Best Fantasy Football TE Sleepers for Week 4

Here are five fantasy football TE sleepers to consider for Week 4. A quick analysis for each tight end is below.

  1. Tyler Higbee, Los Angeles Rams ($3,100)
  2. Zach Ertz, Philadelphia Eagles ($3,100)
  3. AJ Barner, Seattle Seahawks ($3,000)
  4. Foster Moreau, Houston Texans ($2,700)
  5. Jeremy Ruckert, New York Jets ($2,500)

Tyler Higbee, Los Angeles Rams ($3,100)

Why he’s a Week 4 fantasy football sleeper: With Terrance Ferguson (ankle) on IR and Colby Parkinson (shoulder/knee) questionable after missing all of practice, Higbee could see a lot of work against the Eagles. Last week against the Broncos, the veteran caught eight of 11 targets for 62 yards, a touchdown, and 20.2 FPTS. Even with Puka Nacua back, Higbee still should get enough work to be a strong cheap play.

Zach Ertz, Philadelphia Eagles ($3,100)

Why he’s a Week 4 fantasy football sleeper: On the other side of that NFC matchup, the Eagles won’t have DeVonta Smith (hamstring) or Dallas Goedert (knee), leaving Ertz plenty of work. He signed with the team just a few days before last week’s matchup in Chicago and brought in one of two targets for nine yards, leading the position in targets. With more time to ramp up, he has a nice ceiling against the Rams in Week 4.

AJ Barner, Seattle Seahawks ($3,000)

Why he’s a Week 4 fantasy football sleeper: Barner had 7.9 FPTS in Week 2 thanks to a rushing touchdown and 11.9 FPTS in Week 3 against the Commanders, catching five of his nine targets for 69 yards. With Sam Darnold ($5,500) back at QB, Barner looks ready to be a key part of the passing game.

Foster Moreau, Houston Texans ($2,700)

Why he’s a Week 4 fantasy football sleeper: Moreau has exactly two catches in each of his three games this season, and he found the end zone to finish with 8.7 FPTS last week. He actually played more snaps (57%) than Dalton Schultz ($4,800), and both tight ends have favorable matchups against the Cowboys as the desperate Texans look to avoid a 0-4 start.

Jeremy Ruckert, New York Jets ($2,500)

Why he’s a Week 4 fantasy football sleeper: Ruckert caught all five of his targets for 39 yards, a touchdown and 14.9 FPTS in Week 3 against the Lions. He was the team’s second TE in that matchup with Mason Taylor (thumb) out, and he’ll be sidelined again this week against the Bears. Rookie Kenyon Sadiq ($4,000) is a great option with a high ceiling. Still, he’s also questionable, which could leave Ruckert as the primary tight end or at least a more involved secondary option at the position at the minimum salary.

  • AJ Barner, Seattle Seahawks: 11.9 FPTS
