We’re only three weeks into the season and we’ve already got Case Keenum (+6500) playing in a primetime game. The NFL is back, baby!
I don’t want to underestimate the rest of Chicago’s roster too much, but this feels like it could be a game where you might not need to watch too much of the second half. Get some extra sleep and get ready for Tuesday’s workday, you know?
Fortunately, in this article, we’ll be talking about a betting market that tends to be resolved quickly. Let’s break down the first touchdown scorer odds for tonight’s tilt between the Eagles and the Bears. Let’s make a couple of picks, too.
Eagles vs. Bears First Touchdown Scorer Odds

Eagles vs. Bears First Touchdown Scorer Picks
DeVonta Smith First TD Scorer (+900)
Smith already has 19 targets through two games, which is nearly twice as many as any other Eagles’ pass-catching option. Now, you’d have to imagine that the former first-round pick’s role will only increase with the injury to Dallas Goedert (knee), who happened to be leading the team in red zone targets (3). Is there a small part of me that wants to believe in the Zach Ertz (+2500) narrative? Of course. It’s also not that farfetched considering the current state of Philadelphia’s tight end depth chart, or after the 11 touchdowns Ertz scored the past two seasons in Washington. Still, Smith is easily this offense’s No. 1 option anywhere on the field. There’s no need to get too cute here, especially with the Bears secondary surrendering 8.3 yards per opponent pass attempt — the fifth-worst mark in the league.
Eagles D/ST First TD Scorer (+2800)
This is usually where I’d take a Bears player in the first touchdown market, but given the state of their quarterback situation, I don’t really feel the need. Let’s talk some Case Keenum. The journeyman is now 38-years-old and he hasn’t started a game since 2023 with the Texans. He actually started two games that season in Houston, throwing three interceptions in his 53 pass attempts and getting sacked on a mind-numbing 10.2% of his drop backs. If Keenum looks anything like that on Monday against a star-studded Eagles front seven, I just think there’s going to be the opportunity for some big defensive plays. Philly’s defense doesn’t have a takeaway in its first two games of 2026, but it has hurried the opposing QB on 14.5% of drop backs — the third-highest rate in the NFL. Consistent pressure eventually leads to mistakes. The turnovers are coming. Hopefully, they come very early this evening.
