AEW announced Sunday night, September 27, that PAC, whose real name was Benjamin Satterley, has passed away at 40. The company shared the news in a statement on X. A cause of death was not disclosed in the announcement.
PAC had competed just one night earlier at AEW All Out on September 26 at NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. He challenged Andrade El Ídolo for the AEW National Championship in the opening match of the main card. Andrade retained the title by countering PAC’s Brutalizer submission into a pin.
A native of Newcastle upon Tyne, England, Satterley began wrestling in 2004 and built an international career through the independent scene and Dragon Gate in Japan. WWE fans knew him as Adrian Neville in NXT and later Neville on the main roster. He became an NXT Champion, NXT Tag Team Champion and two-time WWE Cruiserweight Champion, earning recognition for his spectacular aerial offense and his “King of the Cruiserweights” persona.
PAC joined AEW in 2019 and became the inaugural All-Atlantic Champion in 2022, holding the championship now known as the International Title. His partnership with Penta and Rey Fénix in Death Triangle also produced a World Trios Championship reign, making him AEW’s first simultaneous double champion. He later won the Trios titles alongside Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta and became part of the Death Riders.
In its announcement, AEW recognized his accomplishments and memorable matches while extending condolences to his family, friends and fans. Our thoughts are with everyone mourning his loss.
