Below, I break down my favorite player prop bets for Friday evening’s game between the Cal Golden Bears and the Clemson Tigers.

Here’s how I’ll play it. I’ll be pumping out these predictions for individual games all season, with plenty of coverage here on DraftKings Network. Follow my handle @dansby_edits for more betting plays.

Cal vs. Clemson player props

Adam Mohammed o79.5 total rushing yards

I trust Adam Mohammed’s volume far more than I trust Cal’s ability to block Clemson’s front for four full quarters. Mohammed carried 28 times for 120 yards against UCLA, and himself occupies 63.8% of the Bears’ rushing attempts. His role has remained substantial through an uneven introduction to the season for his program.

Cal’s blockers have got to step it up, however. The Bears average 3.4 yards per rush as a team, with their offensive eruption against Wagner following two inefficient performances against FBS opponents. I’m keeping Mohammed’s expected efficiency modest, in that case. It’s wise to.

Clemson’s defense isn’t all ferocious. The Tigers have allowed 4.7 yards per carry on the season so far, and have struggled to prevent explosive runs; Devarrick Woods’ questionable designation further complicates an interior rotation already missing linemen. They’ve improved since their big LSU loss, but I need to see more out of this unit before I start bandying about the term elite. Their front, however, has such a high ceiling that it’s the only thing keeping me from projecting Mohammed over 100 yards in this one.

And so over 79.5 fits an expectation of around 20 carries at slightly better than four yards each.

Gideon Davidson o59.5 total rushing yards

For Clemson, I’d keep handing Gideon Davidson the ball against Cal, particularly while the Tigers works through the complications of starting freshman QB Tait Reynolds. Davidson’s workload has already increased from seven carries against LSU to 14 against Georgia Southern, and 16 after that against UNC. After only 60 attempts throughout 2025, he has 37 through three games.

Davidson gained 105 yards in that UNC game, with 45 coming on one run; across his other 15 carries, he gained just 60. I’m encouraged that Clemson kept using him, but I’d say that’s a fine look at his expected efficiency against stout opponents.

Cal’s defense has allowed a whopping 5.3 yards per carry this season already, and starting defensive end Nate Burrell appears doubtful for this game. I expect Clemson to hammer that weakened Golden Bear front all game. The alternative involves asking their shaky offensive line to hold up on obvious passing downs with Reynolds’ raw talent. This is a run-the-ball game, I think.

Jay Haynes’ questionable status could affect the division of work if he returns, but even so. I’ve got Davidson at 15 carries in this game, which puts him right at 60, clearing 59.5 by a hair. And I think I’m being a bit conservative, if I’m honest.
