Saquon Barkley exited Sunday’s content against the Titans with a stinger, and while the veteran running back was able to return after the half, his usage was notably down, finishing the narrow victory with four rushing attempts for nine yards. Barkley underwent an MRI following the game.
But fear not Barkley owners! The former second-overall pick was able to practice on Thursday in the Eagles’ first session of the week, and he’s reportedly expected to suit up on Monday Night Football versus the Bears.
With Barkley at less than 100% in Week 2, Tank Bigsby was Philadelphia’s No. 1 option in the backfield, garnering 13 carries and a pair of targets on a 34% snap share. Will Shipley was also highly involved, though he saw fewer touches and was less of a “buzzy” name on the waiver wire this week.
If Barkley does indeed end up active, he should be able to thrive in what is a very nice matchup against the Bears. Chicago is on the heels of surrendering a 100-yard rushing game to Aaron Jones in Week 2 — his first in almost two years — and across its first two tilts, the team is conceding 122.0 opponent rushing yards per game, which is the 10th-highest mark in the NFL.
