The No. 3 Course (par 70, 7,548 yards, bentgrass greens) of Medinah Country Club in Medinah, Illinois, is the site of the 2026 Presidents Cup, which is the 16th edition of this team event. Medinah most recently hosted the 2019 BMW Championship won by Justin Thomas (-25) and the 2012 Ryder Cup won by Team Europe.
The Presidents Cup is a team formatted match play tournament between Team USA and Team International that is held every two years. Team USA won in 2024 and has won 13 of 15 Presidents Cups. Each team features 12 players and there will be 30 matches played over the four days of this event. Each match won is worth one point and each match tied is worth a half point. The first team to 15.5 points wins and if there is a tie, the teams share the cup.
The first three days of the Presidents Cup consist of two-man team matches. There will be five four-ball matches Thursday, five foursome matches Friday and then four four-ball matches Saturday morning and four foursome matches Saturday afternoon. Following these team matches, there will be 12 single matches Sunday to conclude this event.
If not familiar with these formats, four-ball is when each player of a two-man team plays their own ball and the team takes the best score between the pairing on each hole. Meanwhile, foursome is an alternate shot format, when teammates of these two-man squads alternate shots until they finish the hole.
The pairings and matchups won’t be announced until Wednesday night and some players will play more matches than others, based on how the captains want to use their players throughout the event.

Best Bets for the 2026 Presidents Cup
Xander Schauffele Top 3 Scorer for Team USA (+158)
Schauffele is a true match play expert. For his career, Schauffele is 14-6-3 in singles matches and 12-8 in team matches. The 32-year-old was awesome at the Ryder Cup last season and the Presidents Cup two years ago, going 4-1 in his matches and finishing in a tie for the most points for Team USA at both tournaments.
Schauffele didn’t win on the PGA TOUR this season, but he still had an excellent campaign, making 18-of-20 cuts and recording seven top-10 finishes, two of which have come in his last four starts. Schauffele finished runner-up at the Rocket Classic in July, which was played at another Midwestern venue in Detroit Golf Club and he ranks fourth in this field in strokes gained per round at courses in the Midwest.
Schauffele has been terrific with his driver this season, ranking fourth in total driving and 11th in driving distance, and his off-the-tee skills set him up well for the Medinah, which is a long par 70 that measures in at 7,548 yards. Medinah also presents bentgrass greens and Schauffele ranks third in this field in strokes gained per round at courses with this type of putting surface.
Four of Schauffele’s 10 wins on the PGA TOUR have come on bentgrass and him not finishing as a top-three scorer for Team USA this week would be a surprise.
Si Woo Kim Top 3 Scorer for Team International (+125)
Kim is the International side’s best player and for the third Presidents Cup in a row, he should rise to the occasion. Kim went 3-1 in his matches and he was Team International’s leader in points at the 2022 Presidents Cup. Then, Kim finished in a tie for the most points for Team International at the 2024 Presidents Cup with a 2-2 record in his matches.
Now, Kim travels to Medinah coming off a great season on the PGA TOUR, missing only one cut in 24 starts and carding 11 top-10 finishes. Only Scottie Scheffler had more top-10 finishes than Kim and the 31-year-old was very close to securing his fifth PGA TOUR victory, finishing runner-up at THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson in May and at the FedEx St. Jude Championship last month.
Kim’s ball-striking has been the key to his success, as he leads the PGA TOUR in SG APP, which is a fantastic sign for Medinah. While the courses have seen renovations since, Justin Thomas ranked second in SG APP when he won the 2019 BMW Championship at Medinah. This track now plays as a par 70 with 12 par fours, putting a heavy emphasis on par four scoring and Kim passes this test with flying colors, ranking third in par four performance this season.
