After an extremely high-scoring Week 1, the weather and some strong defensive showings kept the scoring in check for fantasy football in Week 2. Even though the scores were lower, the prizes were still huge on DraftKings, where another top prize of $1 Million was up for grabs in the featured NFL $3M FANTASY FOOTBALL MILLIONAIRE [$1M TO 1ST]. An entry from elidkatz1 finished at the top of the leaderboard with a score of 232.38, more than five points clear of the rest of the 172,761 entries. The winning entry was built around a productive 49ers stack and included several other giant performances from across the 13 games on the slate.

Dalton Schultz and the Patriots Defense Start Strong
Eight games kicked off the slate at 1:00 p.m. ET, but those were some of the lower-scoring fantasy games, and this entry from elidkatz1 mostly took a pass on those 16 teams. The entry only used two roster spots in the early games, saving most of the spots for later in the day.
One option that did play early for the top entry was tight end Dalton Schultz (29 FPTS), who was the highest-scoring option at the position on the main slate by almost 10 points. Schultz was very busy for the Texans as they tried to rally against the Bengals but had to do so without Nico Collins (hamstring). Without Collins, QB C.J. Stroud (20.02 FPTS) focused much more on Schultz, and the veteran tight end finished with 140 yards on 12 catches.
The only other roster slot active in the early wave was the Patriots DST (21 FPTS), who were the second-best defense on the main slate but only had a 5.5% ownership against the Steelers. New England finished the day with four sacks, one interception, one fumble recovery, just three points allowed and this defensive touchdown.
Shultz and the Patriots started the day out right for elidkatz1 but things really got fired up in the later window.
49ers Stack Smashes
In the later window, elidkatz1 built around three players from the 49ers, who crushed the Dolphins to move to 2-0 after knocking off the Rams in Australia in Week 1. The team didn’t seem jet-lagged at all as they cruised to a 35-13 victory.
Brock Purdy (28.48 FPTS) had the second-highest QB score of the day by throwing for two touchdowns and running for a third. He racked up 287 passing yards and ran for 30 more yards. Christian McCaffrey (22.6 FPTS) was a strong pay-up play in the backfield, delivering a pair of rushing touchdowns, 23 rushing yards, and four catches for 23 receiving yards. CMC reached 100 career touchdowns with his second short plunge into the end zone.
The third member of the San Francisco stack was George Kittle (18 FPTS) as elidkatz1 went with the veteran tight end in the FLEX spot, playing him alongside Schultz for a terrific tight end tandem. Kittle had one of Purdy’s two passing scores and finished with four catches for 80 yards on the day.
Three Receivers Rack Up Points
While J.K. Dobbins (3.6 FPTS) had to leave the game early and didn’t deliver much production, the three receivers in elidkatz1’s lineup each had monster games. Each of the three receivers on the roster finished in the top five of WRs for the day, led by a monster game by Jaxson Smith-Njigba (45.5 FPTS), who posted the high score of the day and was one of just three players with 30+ FPTS.
Backup QB Drew Lock (21.4 FPTS) threw three touchdowns to Smith-Njigba against the Cardinals, targeting the star receiver on 11 of his 26 pass attempts. JSN finished with nine catches for 155 yards and three touchdowns.
While the Seahawks were improving to 2-0 by picking up a division win in Arizona, the Cowboys were getting their first win of the season in Dallas by taking down their division rivals from Washington. CeeDee Lamb (38.3 FPTS) had the second-highest point total of all players on Week 2’s slate, finishing with eight catches for 153 yards and a pair of touchdowns, including this late score that iced the victory.
The biggest differentiator in the top entry from elidkatz1 was Raiders WR Tre Tucker (25.9 FPTS), who finished the day as the No. 5 WR on the slate by catching five of his six targets for 119 yards and a touchdown.
Tucker was owned in only 0.7% of entries after he had just two catches for 27 yards in Week 1 against the Dolphins. He was much more effective against the Chargers, and Kirk Cousins (21.22 FPTS) has the Raiders 2-0 as they head to New Orleans. Tucker was one of the best value plays on the board in Week 2, and getting him at such low ownership helped this entry stand out from the rest of the field and post the highest score on the board.
The Bottom Line
This top entry from elidkatz1 in Week 2 leaned heavily on the three big receiver performances, along with big games from Schultz and Kittle at tight end. Since it was a rough week overall for running backs, it made sense to pay up for JSN and Lamb, while making the great pivot play with Tucker, with his very affordable salary and extremely low ownership percentage.
