UPDATE: The Bears have announced that Caleb Williams left the game Sunday with a hamstring injury.
UPDATE: Caleb Williams is being carted to the locker room on Sunday. His return looks unlikely.
Tyson Bagent will remain quarterbacking the team for the rest of today’s game.
Before exiting, Williams went 15-for-26 for 138 yards with no touchdowns and one interception, adding 42 rushing yards on five carries. Flores’s defense had altogether stymied and frustrated an offense that scored 59 points against Carolina in its opener, when Williams completed 21 of 29 passes for 269 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions.
On a scramble drill in the red zone in the fourth quarter against the Vikings on Sunday, Caleb Williams appeared to suffer a non-contact injury on one of his legs after he went down awkwardly. He was helped off the field, could not put weight on his injured leg, and is with trainers headed to the medical tent.
Tyson Bagent is quarterbacking the Bears, and was not able to convert a touchdown before the FG unit came out and the Vikings blocked the attempt. More on Williams as soon as we hear it from the team.
