Jordan Addison Receiving Yards Pick for Vikings vs. Bears

Jordan Addison was held without a reception in Week 1, but a Week 2 matchup against the Bears with Carson Wentz under center might be exactly what the wide receiver needs for a breakout game.

Let’s get the downside out of the way first — Addison had just two targets in Week 1 and didn’t catch either of them. Wentz played a bulk of that game at quarterback, but now gets the full week to work with Addison entering a Week 2 matchup in Chicago.

There’s a lot to like about Addison’s upside in Week 2.

For starters, we have a decent sample of elite production between Wentz and Addison. In the four starts they made together in 2025, Addison cleared 37.5 yards in three games. In fact, he mopped the floor with that number on a couple of occasions — 114 yards vs. the Steelers and 128 yards vs. the Eagles.

In the four Wentz starts combined, Addison hauled in 21-of-30 targets and found the end zone twice. Addison averaged over 77 receiving yards per game in those outings. Enter the Chicago Bears’ defense.

We know Ben Johnson wants to set records offensively, but this roster also might be on the wrong side of some records defensively.

Chicago was one of the worst pass defenses in the NFL in 2025, and it looks like things could get worse in 2026. Bryce Young went for over 360 passing yards in the opener, as the Panthers hung 37 points on the board. Both Carolina starting wide outs topped 75 receiving yards. In total, four Panthers went over 37.5 receiving yards.

I’ll buy-low on a terrific spot for Addison, both in terms of a QB he’s had success with and a matchup with unlimited upside. Addison should be a good player to ladder yardage on and potentially build a SGP with a TD.

I gave this play out on Friday’s DraftKings Network Daily Bets podcast at O37.5 and would play it up to the mid-40’s. Can listen in for more analysis on the play.
