It has been a bit of an up-and-down start to the Andoni Iraola at Liverpool. The Reds have yet to lose a game this season, which is an obvious positive. However, they have three draws in four Premier League games, including a poor scoreless performance against Fulham last week. They did just get a nice win in the Carabao Cup midweek against Tottenham, and got a great win in the Champions League against Atletico Madrid the week prior. This is the last game for the Reds before the international break and they would love to get some positive momentum heading into the break.
Bournemouth Preview
Bournemouth currently sits 15th in the Premier League. It is a big transitional period for the Cherries. They are starting a season without Andoni Iraola and Antoine Semenyo for the first time since 2022. Semenyo was their talisman and Iraola brought them to new heights over the past couple of seasons. Now, Bournemouth will have to go up against their former manager. Marco Rose has yet to win his first Premier League game for Bournemouth and it would be quite special to do so against the man he replaced. The Cherries have done a decent job scoring goals, but they will need to be much better defensively to stop this dangerous group of Liverpool attacking players.
Bournemouth vs. Liverpool Pick
My best bet is on Liverpool to get the win on the South Coast. Andoni Iraloa would love to get a win against his former team, and his players should be motivated to get the three points for their new manager. Liverpool played really well midweek and proved how high their ceiling is. They just need to continually string together those types of performances across all competitions. The Reds have figured out their preferred back four with Ronald Araujo at rightback and look much better defensively. They have no shortage of attacking players and should be able to create chances against this Bournemouth side. Liverpool has not been sharp enough in the Premier League so far, but this is a great chance to take three points into the international break.
