Williams had Monteiro moving backward early in this contest. Less than a minute in, Williams landed a takedown, but Monteiro got up right away. After recording two more takedowns in the round, Williams gained control on the ground. This was a completely one-sided round favoring Williams.

Williams kept trying to land takedowns but wasn’t finding as much success in the second round. Although this was a close round, I’m giving it to Monteiro as he had the better finish and displayed elite defense.
